Arlington Heights Chancel Choir is led by Steve Simons, Chancel Choir Director. Alice Walker serves as Organist and Director of Music Ministries. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm and provide leadership in the 8:30 and 10:50 worship services every Sunday. We offer special concerts throughout the year, including the Lord's Acre Pops Concert in the fall, Handel's Messiah in December, and other major works.
Our choir is open to all who have a desire to sing; there is no audition required. We welcome new members at all times of the year; simply show up for rehearsal or contact Steve Simons for more information.
Holly Daze - Holly Daze Craft Bazaar is coming up on November 15. This is a major fundraising opportunity for the choir and we need your help to make it a success. If you would like to serve as the chair of the Set Up or Clean Up committee, or be a member of any other committee, please sign up on the sheet in the choir room. Set up will take place on Thursday evening, November 13, and Friday, November 14 after CAYA. Clean up will take place on Saturday, November 15 at 4:00 pm. Also be sure to pick up Holly Daze flyers and urge your friends, family and neighbors to come to Holly Daze on Saturday, November 15 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Messiah - We have started rehearsals for Handel's Messiah, which will be performed on Sunday, December 14. If you have friends or family who would like to sing with us for this special work, please invite them to join us for Wednesday night choir rehearsals at 8:15 pm. The dress rehearsal for the concert will be Saturday, December 13 from 10 am to noon.
