The year started in July with a planning meeting at Discussion of new dues was a main topic. September had us eating great salads. Dr Sam Ayers, Principal of Estacado High School told to us about changes and challenges of high school. Our project will be to support the students and teachers of Estacado through the year.

In October a representative of the South Plains Food Bank. Can goods were collected for her to .take back to the food bank

In November we had a field trip to Estacado . Dr. Sam Ayers took us on a tour of the school. He shared the positive changes he has seen in the student body. Our meeting and silent auction was in the library

December found many of us having a great time at the Lubbock Chapters Christmas Tea. ..

In February what great soups and fellowship! Members with last names A-L brought soup and accompaniments for a soup supper. Members with last names M-Z brought $5.00 to contribute to the Jean Castleberry Grant-in-Aid. We were lead in a rededication ceremony to celebrate the 53rd birthday of Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Orientation for prospective members was held at the Lubbock Women’s Club. Each Coordinating Council President sharing part of the history of Delta Kappa Gamma. We had members share their experiences in the time they had been in Delta Kappa Gamma.

In April we initiation new members and announced the Jean Castleberry Grant-in-Aid recipient.

May was Founders’ Day luncheon. Thirteen members of Alpha Kappa enjoyed the luncheon and the installiation of offiers.
