Prior to the Awards presentation, Unit 121 presented an Americanism program on the American Flag and the Pledge of Allegiance, and 5 Legionnaires spoke with the students about their time in the Military and answered questions. This Americanism program included an assignment given to the students, prior to the program, to find someone in their family that had been in the military, find out something about their service and to bring a picture so the classes could meet their Family's Hero. The members of the Auxiliary and Post hopes this program will continue for many years to come because the children of today are the future of tomorrow, and we feel it is our responsibility to teach them to respect and honor the flag and the people who serve this country under that flag.
