AUXILIARY NEWS BITS:
CHILDREN'S BOOKS NEEDED: The auxiliary is collecting hard-back storybooks for age’s birth through teens to help the USO at Ft. Hood in its “United Through Reading” program. This program is designed to keep families connected through deployments. Service members choose a hard cover story book from a wide selection and they are recorded reading the book. The recording is then burned to a DVD. Service members are encouraged to personalize the book. The DVD and book are then sent to the family when the service member deploys. Unfortunately for some, this may be the last memory they have to hang on to. This will be an ongoing project for our unit so there is no deadline for bringing in books. Books do not have to be new, but they must be in good condition with no writing inside.
Volunteers are needed for VA activities, and don't forget to keep tract of all of your volunteer hours and report them monthly.
If you are unable to attend our monthly meetings because of transportation issues, give one of the officers a call and we'll make arragements to pick you up. If you have any ideas on ways to raise funds let us know. We must raise some money so we can keep our programs going.
AUXILIARY BUILDING RENTAL: THERE WILL BE A LIMIT FOR THE MEMBER PRICE OF TWICE PER YEAR. THE MEMBER PRICE APPLYS ONLY TO YOUR IMMEDIATE HOUSEHOLD LIVING IN YOUR HOME. THE MEMBER RENTING THE BUILDING IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BUILDING AND NO REFUND WILL BE RETURNED UNTIL THE BUILDING HAS BEEN INSPECTED FOR CLEANUP AND DAMAGES.
