Next monthly get-together...
Our next meeting will be on January 21, 2012. Even if you don't want to attend meetings, you can donate blankies! Check out our list of places you can drop off blankets around town.
We currently most need infant and teen-sized blankets. One layer fleece blankets of 1˝ to 2 yards of fleece finished at the edges are quick & easy for teens! |

 How You Can Help

Project Linus is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization. Therefore, we are
dependent upon the generosity of our community for our success.
Here are examples of ways to assist us in getting blankets to children in crisis situations:
- Quilt, knit, or crochet a blanket.
- Sponsor a fundraiser “For the Benefit of Project Linus.” It can be a carwash, bake
sale, or competitive raffle between grades or schools.
- Sponsor a "Make-A-Blanket Day" among your peers, classmates, or church group. (We have
links to free patterns here on the website and there are many more on the national Project Linus website. Also, 'Google' "free quilt patterns," "free crochet patterns," or "free knitting patterns." These searches yield thousands of free resources on the internet.)
- Spread the word about Project Linus. Get your friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers, and church members involved.
- Purchase gift certificates for us to craft, fabric, or office supply stores.
- Ask your employer for a donation to Project Linus.
Donation guidelines require checks to be made payable to:
Project Linus National Headquarters
Be sure to indicate on the bottom of your check the name of the chapter you are supporting ("Project Linus of Willamson / Travis / Hays Counties, Texas"). Eighty percent of the donation is be held on reserve for the chapter, and 20 percent will be retained for use by National
Headquarters to be used at the discretion of their board of directors.
- Donate money to help us buy materials. Here are some examples of what we can purchase when we receive a monetary gift.
- $100 buys 12 yards of fleece for six teen blankets, or 12 children's blankets, 24
baby blankets, or enough flannel for 25 receiving blankets.
- $50 purchases fabric and batting to make five baby quilts.
- $25 affords us enough yarn to make three baby blankets.
- $18 buys 500 labels or 2˝ books of stamps.
- $10 covers five spools of thread.
- $5 buys one ream of computer paper.
