I was born in Ft. Worth, Tx and lived there until I was 20. Then I moved to Houston. In Jan. 2007 I celebrated my 31th wedding anniversary. My husband has a son and daughter that are in their 40's. My step daughter has two daughters. So I have been able to play Grandma some of the time.

I have two cats that are a little over 3 years old (Tux & Ivy). They are sisters and are both 'little wild women'. They love to play with their toys, play chase with each other, mock fight with each other, and play chase and hide and seek with us.

My husband and I are both retired. When I was working I did computer programming. Half of the time I worked in permanent positions for companies. The rest of the time I did contract programming mostly for the larger oil companies in Houston.

I live in the Galleria area, love Mexican food, and taking day trips. My favorite television show is NCIS. Orchids are my favorite flowers.

I joined the Red Hats in October 2004 and have totally embraced the concept. It is giving me the opportunity to find my inter child that has been sleeping for years. Purple is my favorite color. So this gives me an excuse to look for more clothes and accessories. I have always liked hats. So now, I get to wear them regularly and it is GREAT fun !!

Gretchen ..........Birth date: 7/3

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. and has lived in Houston for about 24 years. Currently she lives in the Heights.

Gretchen works in Information Technology doing Application Support. She is married and shares her husband’s love of music. Her favorite activity is singing! She is a staff singer at Trinity Episcopal and sings with the Dickens Quartet. Her husband is on the music faculty of one of Houston’s colleges.

She has two dogs. They are both rescued dogs. ‘Peg’ is a dachshund mix and ‘Orpheus’ is a black lab mix.

She enjoys knitting and gardening. Gretchen really loves to travel. She does a lot of it in relationship to her job, but she, also, takes any chance that she gets to see more of the world. During her travels, she takes the opportunity to look for a ‘little red hat’ that she can bring back as a keep sake and reminder of her fun time!

Marie was born in Berea, Ohio, but she has called Houston home for the last 23 years. She lives around the Highway 6 at Westheimer area which is really convenient to her job. She works for a company in the Energy related field that is located in Sugar Land. Her job involves Accounting and handling Relocation expenses for employees.

Marie is single. She loves Country things. She enjoys Country Western dancing, the Cow Parade Cows, and The Houston Rodeo. In fact, she volunteers at the Houston Rodeo.

Her favorite television show is Lost. She likes all kinds of food, but Houston’s is her favorite restaurant. Her favorite color is purple which is GREAT for being a Red Hatter and her fav flower is the gladiola. She collects the Cow Parade Cows and enjoys baking. All this gives her a number of things for hobbies, but she has another one that is really Neat! She does ‘Rubber Stamping’ and makes greeting/occasion cards. They are really beautiful!

Other things we should know about her: She loves to have fun, travel, shop for bargains, and buy unusual clothing and jewelry.

Kathy ..........Birth date: 6/18

Kathy was born in Milwaukee and she has lived in Houston for about 30 years. She lives in Oak Forest. Kathy works for HISD as an Educational Diagnostician.

She is divorced and has two children….Sara 20 and Briana 14. She has some dogs: Irish Wolfhounds and Italian Greyhounds.

Kathy has just started taking piano lessons and she likes to crochet. Her favorite TV show is SG1 and she likes football. The Green Bay Packers are her fav team!

Jane has lived in Houston most of the time since 1965. She was born in Warren, Arkansas. Now she lives in the Westchase area of town between the Galleria and the Beltway.

She works for Kellogg Brown & Root Services, Inc. as a Lead Cost Specialist.

Jane’s Royal Name is Lady Jane, Supreme Super Nana. She has 4 children: Danette-36, Lloyd-35, Seamus-33, and Celinda-45 who is her stepdaughter. To show she has earned her Royal Name, her grandchildren are: Jocelynn 16, Jacquelynn 14, Jonalynn 12, Justin 9, Amanda 15, Chance 10, Jack 9, Alahna 4, Sofia 18 months, Seamus 6 months, Adrienne 12, Conor 9, and one or two on the way due in October.

She collects teddy bears and wants to start painting & knitting again. She, also, likes doing volunteer work. Working out at Curves & 24 hour fitness are among her activities along with swimming. She travels a lot to visit with her family. Reading, listening to audio books and surfing the web are additional things that she enjoys.

Carol was born in Texarkana, Ar. She has lived in the Houston area for about 18 years. She currently lives in the Southeast at Richmond, Tx.

Carol works for a Construction company as a Receptionist.

She is divorced and has two children, Shawn 32 and Kevin 29.

Carol likes to read, play Bunco, and go to the movies. She participates in a social group that is an extension of Square Dancing.

Her favorite television shows are Lost and The Closer. She likes Goode’s Seafood Company for food. Her favorite flowers are orchids.

Odessa was born in Groveton, Texas. She has lived in the Houston area for 66 years. Currently she lives in the Tanglewilde Subdivision near Richmond and South Gessner. Odessa is retired now, but previously she worked in Real Estate.

She is divorced and has 5 children: 2 boys (Henry and Fred) and 3 girls (Patricia, Beth, and Evelyn). Odessa collects thimbles, salt & pepper shakers, and bells.

Her favorite television shows are Bob Barker, Wheel of Fortune, Ghost Whisperer, and shows on Channel 8 – Public television. She likes all kinds of food, but her favorite restaurants are: Willie Gees, Rudi Lechners, Chili’s, and the Red Robin. Her favorite colors are red, yellow and pink. and her favorite flowers are roses. She enjoys working in her yard with the flowers which include orchids and violets.

Colleen is originally from Ruston, La. However, she has lived in Houston for 53 years. So I think that we can claim her as being a Houstonian!! Currently she lives in the Sugar Land area. She is married and has one son. Her husband’s interest is in physics and her son is a Houston firefighter….Yea for him!!

Colleen works for the Houston Independent School District and is an Educational Diagnostician.

A list of her favorite things includes: Amazing Race, Mexican food, shopping and traveling. She says that red is her favorite color and she likes to collect antique costume jewelry.

Colleen has a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix dog named Gypsy Rose.

Ida was born in Illinois and she has lived in the Houston area for 1 year this last May 2010. She currently lives in Bellaire.

Ida works in the Property Management field for a company in the Galleria area.

She is divorced and has two children, Bob and Chris. Chris is married to Alison and they have two children: Cooper who is three and Copeland who is one month old.

Ida likes fly fishing and would like to get back into knitting. Being new to Houston, she is anxious to meet new people, develop new friendships and start making her life here in Texas.

Her favorite television shows are Brothers & Sisters and Survivor. She hasn’t developed any favorite restaurants yet….she likes all types of food. She likes primary colors and Ida says that she is interested in taking “day trips” to neighboring towns and just exploring. She is hoping to make some friends that will be interested in taking “day trips” with her.

Tandy ..........Birth date: 9/8

Tandy has lived in Houston her entire life. She was born at Hermann Hospital. We don’t have many natural Houstonians!! She lives in the Gulfgate area of Houston…Pecan Park.

Tandy still works. She does order processing, customer service and exports for a chemical manufacturing company in Pearland.

She is divorced with 2 “puppy boys”. They are not called DOGS because they don’t know that they are dogs!! One is a 105 lb golden retriever named Casey and the other one a 55 lb mixed terrier named Woody. They are the loves of her life as well as protectors and guardians for their puppy mom.

Tandy gardens both vegetables and flowers. She loves plant shopping or anything related to gardening….actually she likes all types of shopping!! She enjoys music, concerts of all types. Her house is filled with antiques, collectables and art objects. She enjoys movies, theatre, and new adventures of all sorts. She is an animal lover and thrives in the outdoors…when it’s below 85F. She spends most of her spare time in her garden with her puppy boys, the squirrels and a multitude of birds that she feeds daily.

Bobbi has lived in Houston her entire life. She was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital and grew up in Spring where she went to Conroe schools so that makes her one of the GRITs – Girls Raised in Texas!! She lives in Katy now.

Bobbi works for a pipeline company in downtown Houston. She is unattached and has two male kitties….Skipper (orange/white) and Moo-Moo (black/white).

Bobbi has gathered piggy banks, teddy bears, and old primers. She says that she needs to curb the practice. She doesn’t like clutter, but it’s too late now!! She’s interested in getting out and discovering the best hamburger or the best margarita in Texas or at least in a three hour drive from Houston. Quiet activities are more her speed than boisterous ones.

Her favorite television show maybe Hot in Cleveland. She’s been watching Medium and Ghost Whisperer lately. She likes comedies best. For food she says that tilapia is a new found favorite food. She gave up chicken after reading Eat Right for your Blood Type. She’s B+ and since she stopped eating it, she says that she doesn’t ache as much. She’s been taking everyone to Tony’s on Mason Rd lately. There’s another one on Ella near 610. She enjoys eating at off times and that way she misses the crowds. So far as activities go she’s been checking out Reiki and NLP. Bobbi likes Wildflowers and her favorite color is blue/green (green/blue).

She was born in Crowley, La. but she has lived in Houston for over 40 years. She currently lives in the Southwest at Katy, Tx.

Carolyn works for a drilling supply company as a receptionist.

She is single and has one son named Tim that is 33 years old. He lives in Austin, Tx. There is a mixed breed dog in her family named Oscar. He is 17 years old.

So far as hobbies and collecting things goes, she enjoys reading and likes to collect anything that has a heart on it! For activities she enjoys traveling and is involved in the Eastern Star. Her favorite television show is ‘Eastenders” on PBS. She likes Italian, Mexican and seafood. Roses are her favorite flowers and her favorite colors are red and all shades of blue and purple.

Donna was born in Providence, RI. She moved to the Houston area about 10 years ago and lives in Katy.

She works for a bank and does Accounts Receivable/Factoring for them.

Donna is married. Her husband's name is Jeff and he likes all kinds of sports...especially Hockey and Formula One Car Racing. They have 2 sons...Chris - age 24 and Jeremy - age 20. Chris just graduated from college in May, 2010. Jeremy is still in college. They have one cat. His name is Squeakers and he is 3 years old.

Donna loves to Cross Stitch and she collects carousel horses. Her favorite television shows are all the CSI's, The Mentalist, The Good Wife and the HGTV channel. Angela was born in Iowa, and she has lived in the Houston area since 1996. She currently lives in Waller, Tx.

She works at Houston Community College and is a Librarian.

She is divorced and has a wonderful array of animals that keep her company. She has 4 dogs, 1 kitty, 4 horses, 2 geese, 3 turkeys, and some chickens. In case you couldn’t tell from the animals….she has a farm/ranch in Waller!!

Susan was born right here in Houston! We don’t get many of those. She moved to Sugar Land 14 years ago. Her profession is that of a psychotherapist.

She is single and has 2 cats…Gypsy Rosalie and Molly Hudson.

Susan likes paper crafts and she collects rocks. Her favorite TV shows are The Vampire Diaries, The Gates, Haven, and True Blood. Mexican and Indian foods are the ones that she likes the best. Born in Stamford, Texas, Sandra has lived in Houston for 32 years. She lives in the Spring Branch area. She taught English for 7 years and retired from the City of Houston.

Sandra has been married to Al for 47 years. They have a son, Matt, a daughter, Sunni, and 2 grandchildren: Sunni’s Samuel Alan and Grace Anne. The family has her son’s cat, Tear Drop.

She collects angels and cherubs. In her angel collection, she has started a group of the Jim Shore angels and has 6 or 7 that have been signed. She and Al like to volunteer at the Hobby Center, attend plays, travel, and go on cruises.
