Did you know you have a voice with the FBISD Board?
The function of the School Board is to provide local citizen supervision and control over education at a point close to the parent and child. Fort Bend ISD School Board of Trustees is elected to represent the citizens of Fort Bend ISD. Citizens may raise items at district level with the Board of Trustees. Citizens are, however, obliged to exhaust avenues of enquiry at appropriate campus and administration channels before bringing concerns to the attention of the Board.
Meetings of the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees are typically held twice a month, on the second and fourth Mondays. Meetings are held at the Fort Bend ISD Administration Building at 16,431 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land. See below for a list of upcoming FBISD Board Meeting dates. To address the Board of Trustees an audience participation form must be completed and submitted by 6.45pm on the night of the Board meeting.
The form is available by cliking on the FBISD Board link on th eleft side of this page or from the Community Relations Department. There are three ways to submit the form: - Deliver to Fort Bend ISD Community Relations Department by 4.30pm on the day of the board meeting. The office is located in the FBISD Administration Building at 16,431 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land.
- Fax the form to the Community Relations Department at 281-634-1712 by 4.30pm the day of the Board meeting.
- Hand deliver the form to the police officer on duty at the Board meeting by 6.45pm.
Following submission of the audience participation card, citizens may address the Board during the Audience Items portion of the agenda. Guidelines for addressing the Board must be adhered to. Comments are limited to three minutes, and written as well as oral information may be submitted. If a group of more than three people wishes to address the same item, a spokesperson must be appointed on behalf of the group.
