The PTO is currently looking for parents to help out on the board and various committees for next year.

The PTO is comprised entirely of parent and teacher volunteers, and does an awesome job in supporting our school in extra-curriculum activities, and providing enriched learning opportunities for our children, many of which could not take place without the financial support of the PTO.

Among the activities this year the PTO provided funding for the field trips and bus transportation, Time Magazine for kids and the Brain Pop computer program for the entire school, Smart Boards for classrooms, Science Night and most recently the Carnival, operated the school store, organized Family Dinner nights, sold cookie dough, collected box tops, and held a clothing drive for the FBISD's outreach program Shared Dreams.

This is a great opportunity to enhance your resume, increase your contact with the school, and make some new friends.

There are currently both Moms and Dads on the PTO, and parents who work full and part time.

Among the positions open are:

• Secretary (come to the meetings, take notes, and help the president stay organized)
• Publicity (liaise with the local newspapers to advertise our main events)
• Website (upload new content to our website http://www.orgsites.com/tx/cbe_pto/ on a regular basis)
• Write newsletters and flyers
• Grant Writing (apply for funding from various associations)
• Landscaping (keep a healthy tidy campus)
• T-shirts (organize and deliver the colony bend shirts for 2010)
• Science Night (coordinate experiments and volunteers)
• Carnival and Auction

We are also looking for people with good leadership, vision and great ideas. If you can help in any way (1-2 hours a month or more) then please let us know, or contact Stephanie Price or Susy Grilli (Muddimer). We can put you in touch with the people who are currently involved and help you learn more before committing. It would be great to have parents from every class represented on the board or a committee.
