How to be Saved.

Sin is simply rejecting God's legal right of authority over our lives. For example, when he tells us in his Word not to commit fornication and we ignore that, we are sinning. Ironically, all the things he commands us to do or not to do, are for our own benefit, not his. Sinning leads to many horrible consequences in our lives and worse yet it affects others as well. TRUE repentance is the first step to being “born again” and on your way to heaven and not hell. The next step is to receive and believe in Jesus Christ as both your Savior and Lord. Having done that the Holy Spirit of God will actually come into you and make your spirit man brand new. The problem is your soul and your body are still corrupt and can only be changed by feeding massive doses of God's Word into your being. The Spirit of God within you will help, but you must make the first step.

In Romans 10:9-10 the apostle Paul tells us it is with the mouth we confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and with the heart we believe. It can be as simple as speaking with your mouth, believing in your heart and repenting for real. Here is a prayer you can use to make that transition from eternal damnation to eternal life with God in heaven. “Father God I am a sinner, but I don't want to be like that anymore. So from my heart I repent of those sins and receive Jesus Christ as both my Lord and Savior. As Savior he forgives my sin; as Lord he is my Master and I will do my best with your grace to obey all he has commanded.”
