The annual celebration and competition of EVERY CHRISTIAN A SOUL WINNER for 2012 will begin January 1, 2012!! Affiliates please keep us posted on your progress in winning the lost to Christ.

If you are not an affiliate and live in Africa, you can still be a part of this competition of winning the lost. There are no prizes here in this life other than recognition of entering the competition, but wouldn't it be wonderful to be a part of this anyway? After all, that is what we are supposed to be doing.

The rules are simple. Train each person how to win the lost to Christ. Practice on each other so they have confidence. Email us telling us you are going to compete in the Celebration. You can start anytime during the year. Then on Dec. 31, 2012 email us and tell us the number of adults in your church 12 years old and older. Then report of the number of those people who actually won one or more people to the Lord during the year.

We will then announce on this site and our sister site Brazil and Beyond Ministries, those who participated and the winner. Come on Christians in Africa! Catch the vision: EVERY CHRISTIAN A SOUL WINNER!!

Greetings in the name of the one who loved us first,

Dear Affiliates

We do our best to send you materials when we can. We would love to be able to do much more, but like you, we are obliged to do the best with what we have. Right now we don't have much in the way of resources to help as much as we would like to help. To complicate matters the economic situation in this country has deteriorated so bad that we have almost no one helping us financially in this ministry.  It is mostly my wife's and my own money that is being used. 

Here in Texas it is especially bad since we are experiencing the worst drought since 1886 when records were first started.  The ranchers in this area have been selling their cattle at giveaway prices because there is no grass.  Wildfires have consumed hundreds of houses (almost 200 right in this area and near Austin over 500 homes have been destroyed by fire), plus other areas in the state. 

The conditions of the church as a whole is even worse.  They are very closed minded and don't want anyone in their churches but their own friends.  In Brazil we spent 3 weeks there and were able to preach in 5 churches, 4 of which we had never been before. They are open to us.   But here in this country we sent videos to many churches in this area saying we would come to their church and preach and share the annointing on this ministry with them for free, but none of them have responded yet.  It's incredible. 

I'm not telling you all this to dump our problems on you, but to let you and other affiliates know we are in need of your prayers for the Lord to open doors for this ministry and to bring in new financial supporters.  Otherwise our ministry to affiliates will be reduced to nothing more than what can be obtained over the internet.  Thank you for your serious and earnest prayers.

Posted 7/18/10. And now for the announcement of the winner for the 2010 Celebration: Every Christian a Soul Winner!

The winning affiliate is sister Sarah and the congregation that meets with her in Kenya. During the month of May, 14% of their members won at least one person to the Lord, despite torrential rains that would often last all day long, having to walk through the mud, being rejected, and having to go without food during much of the walking.

A major problem they encountered is that the people are very poor and were angry with God. They held a lot of bitterness in their hearts toward him, thinking he was angry with them. They actually believed God hated them. How do you answer that? Just like her team did! They responded with the word of God. They explained from scripture the problems here on the earth are because of the fall of man and the work of the devil. God is not the problem - he is the solution!

Another question the people had was why Jesus was the only way. Sister Sarah took them to the cross, explaining that if people were to live just a good life and still go to heaven, then Jesus did not have to endure death on the cross. He could have stayed at home in heaven. Others would say they would receive Jesus when they are old. Those witnessing countered with asking them what would happen to them if they died suddenly before they were old.

Sister Sarah made a real good point in her report to us. She explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not an argument, but it is a challenge to us. This is true even after we are born again because our job now is to grow in Christ and we can't do this if we are no longer challenged. The Gospel will continue to challenge us on to new levels until we go to be with Christ.

Since we were unable to locate a reliable bicycle shop in their area, they agreed to accept the option of receiving teaching books, Bible dictionaries, concordances, etc. In addition to that, the first prize included the Electronic Proclaimer Bible, two boxes of regular Bibles, and some teaching DVDs and CDs. They also received a certificate as the first place winner with the names of each person winning someone to the Lord, and a beautiful medal to go along with that. We are hoping they will take pictures of those who participated, maybe some pictures of the new converts, leaders wearing the medal, etc. We would all like to actually see some pictures to get a better perspective of what happened and how these honored soul winners are.

We learned a few more things from this Celebration and will be making a few changes for the one in 2012. Despite the awesome prizes we offered, we did not have as much participation in the Celebration as we had last year. So next year the rules will be as follows:

Prizes will be Bibles only. After all, that is what it is really all about - winning the lost and then giving them the information (Bible) to help them grow in Christ and win others into the Kingdom.

The celebration will run all year (from Jan. 1st, to Dec. 31st of the next year) with the final push and rush of activity in December to celebrate the Lord's birthday in the final month. This will enable those who are not able to participate during only one month, to still have plenty of time to witness to someone about the Lord the entire year. Let's start to catch the vision: Every Christian a Soul Winner, and start training and encouraging those who never have won someone to the Lord.

The reporting will be easier. All you need to do is gather information from each congregation in your church on Dec. 31th of each year, the total number of members in the congregations 12 years of age and older, and the number of them that won at least one person to the Lord during the Celebration year. So reporting the information will be just a one time deal.

Let's get excited about winning the lost to Christ. If you didn't participate in the last Celebration. Please remember we will not send any affiliate by postal mail the teaching material, DVDs, CDs, etc. who do not participate in the Celebration. However, you can still get lots of information from the website. We try to post a new teaching every month.

Greetings to all our affiliates in the name of Him who was and is and is to come.

We understand most of our affiliates are in developing countries. Money for ministry is a problem for you. However, that seems to be universal. I have never encountered a ministry yet that felt they had enough money to do what God has called them to do. We here at Christ International Church in the U.S.A. are in the same predicament. That's why we, as well as all our members still have to work secular jobs to pay bills and fund this ministry. We have tried to make it clear we are unable to send money to affiliates; that our limitations allow us only to send Bibles, books, and teaching materials at this time. Despite that, we have had some affiliates ask for money or things like motorcycles, computers, etc. So please don't ask for these things.

All people have expectations, and if your expectations are we will change our minds about this you will be setting yourself up for disappointment. We will send only discipleship materials.

The way to keep from getting yourself in a bind financially, is to never go into debt and never get out ahead of the leading of the Holy Spirit, whether it is in personal matters or ministry. Remember, God's word tells us in Phil. 4:19 ....God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. In other words, it is God's responsibility to provide for the need; ours is to live holy lives, spread the gospel, and be transformed into the image of God's dear Son.

The gospel was first spread by poor people who looked to God as their supplier. They had no other choice. This is what we try to do. We do our part by working regular jobs, but still trust God to lead and provide for us a step at a time. We hope this will encourage you to do the same, and to trust God to provide for you according to where you are in your spiritual walk.

Just for the record, we spend a considerable amount of money for a small ministry like ours just for postage to affiliates. We hope now you will understand why we cannot send money to individuals in our affiliation. We know you can be blessed with what we send to you and what you can get off the internet. Keep up the good work and begin preparing each person in your congregations to be active soul winner. Remember, Every Christian a Soul Winner.

Beware - the Counterfeit Will Come

During the contest in 2009 most every affiliate has observed the Lord was manifesting his greatness in your part of the world. It is important not to stop, but to keep this fire going. It can get even much bigger than what you have already experienced, and I believe that is what the Lord wants to do. It could even become known all over Africa and Asia. However, the Lord prompted in my heart to write to you today and share with you a few things.

The devil is upset about what the Lord is doing through you and he will move to stop it. The most likely way is that he will try to cause dissention among your leadership. It's important to remain in one mind and one accord. Also, he will send his messengers, disguised as believers, during services to disrupt things. That happened in this country in the great Azuza Street Revival during the early 1900s. Brother Seymour was the one who God used to usher in this mighty move of the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately, brother Seymour lacked discernment and was unable to recognize when the counterfeit moved in. Eventually false signs, wonders, prophecies, etc. took over and the revival stopped. Be sure the devil will begin moving in on what is happening there in your work and try to stop it.

You can do several things to counter the enemy. First of all I would plead with you to share this information with your leadership so everyone in all of your congregations can remain in one accord and be on the lookout for counterfeit manifestations. Also, fast and pray that the Lord would give those in your leadership group (both men and women) the gift of discernment, and always remain humble knowing it is God doing this thing and not people.

Another practical thing you can do is to make it clear to the people attending, there will be no gifts of the Spirit manifested through those in the crowd - but only by those trusted and recognized people in leadership positions that the pastor has chosen. If someone in the crowd doesn't honor that, the ushers should be trained to look for these things and move in to deal with the situation before it gets of out of hand and the speaker in the pulpit has to ask for help. Kathyern Kulman, a great evangelist in this country, used that tactic and her ministry lasted for many many years, where as the Azuza Street revival was very short lived.

Manifestations in the crowd of falling down under the power of the Spirit, shaking, laughing, wailing under conviction of sin, staggering around as though drunk, and weeping are all normal Holy Ghost manifestations. However, remember not to allow any of the 9 gifts (manifestations - see 1Cor. Ch.12) of the Spirit to come from the crowd. Although it is possible they could be legitimate, if allowed to continue the devil will move in and stop the move of the Lord.

Also, beware of disruptive behavior of any kind, such as people crawling on the ground and barking like a dog (cast the devil out of that person), or shouting that goes beyond real praise and worship. There will be times when it is difficult to determine when the behavior is actually disruptive and the person is knowingly or even unknowingly being used by the enemy. In such situations have ushers close by to escort the person to the side to pray with the person. A little conversation with the person often reveals the truth. The point is - don't tolerate any disruptive behavior. Just as Jesus put unbelievers out of the room when he prayed for someone, remove the disruptive messengers of Satan from the area.

I'm sure you understand my intentions of sharing this information with you simply are to help you benefit from my experience and help you to make your own decisions. May the move of the Lord among you grow more powerful than it is already, and may there be peace and harmony among your leadership.
