CHRISTMAS PROVIDERS - Please help make 2014 a success!
Welcome to the Christmas Provider website.
Mission Statement: To assist less-fortunate families with children in the HEB and Birdville School Districts by providing "Christmas" for them using an "adopt-a-family" approach. Our non profit organization consists entirely of volunteers and representatives from area communities, churches, businesses and schools in the HEB and Birdville Independent School Districts.

Our non-profit volunteer driven organization's goal is to provide Christmas for needy school children and their families. We have been in existence since 1984 serving 400 -700 families every Christmas season. This is a unique adopt-a-family Christmas program in that people who choose to help a family (the "Provider") will actually get to meet their adopted family and deliver Christmas themselves!

Our organization works closely with the school counselors of the two partner school districts to ensure that the most needy families are offered help. The school children of these two districts also hold a food drive for our organization so that adoptive families can receive non-perishable canned goods in addition to Christmas gifts.

Volunteers are always needed to adopt the families, answer phone lines from Providers, sort and box donated canned goods, or help load the boxes of the canned goods into Provider vehicles. If you are interested in being a volunteer, please call the Provider line and leave your name and number and a Board Member or other volunteer will get with you.

Read further to find out how you can help.

NOTE: Families interested in being servered by Christmas Providers must have a child enrolled in either the HEB or Birdville School District. Contact your school nurse for more information.

REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT
PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS

1.Individuals, families, or groups may call to adopt a family.
    2. Providers may request a particular size family or geographic preference of family. A note of caution, the more specific requests, the more difficult it is to match Providers to families.
    3. Providers are asked to provide at least ONE wrapped gift for each child in the family, but you may always do more within reason! The emphasis should be placed on the children
    4. Providers are required to provide their family a meat (turkey or ham) for Christmas dinner. A box of canned goods will be provided to you by the Christmas Provider Organization to deliver with your meat so that the family can have a nice meal on Christmas Day.
    5. Providers should deliver their gifts and the boxed of prepared food (and meat) to the family at their convenience prior to Christmas Day.

The following items will be given to each Provider.
    1. A client intake sheet giving information on the family, including clothing sizes, gift ideas, and contact phone numbers.
    2. A box of canned goods and a grocery store gift certificate will be available for PROVIDER pick-up Dec. 12th and/or 13th, 2014 between 9:00-5:00 at the Boy Scout Building -First United Methodist Chuch in Hurst, TX. A map will be sent to the Provider as well as a reminder postcard.
