The North Texas Queen's Circle

Chapter Queens meet to form the first North Texas Queen's Circle.

WELCOME to the Home Page of the Crown of Roses, a Sisterhood. We are a Registered Chapter of the ,Red Hat Society, in McKinney, Tx and are glad to have you visiting us. Our chapter was formed on November 26, 2004 after several discussions about old friends needing to reconnect and have fun together again. We have raised our families, volunteered for school activities, church and charities, worked at jobs and at home, cheered on our families, cooked thousands of meals, and taken someone's temperature too many times to remember. It is our time to have fun and relax a little, kick off our responsibilities for a while and whoop it up. We need to put on our red hats and purple outfits [or pink and lavender if you are not privileged to wear the red and purple just yet] and go play for a while. Thus, the Crown of Roses, a Sisterhood, was born.

After many phone calls and a tiny bit of planning, we held our first "official" Hattering on January 14, 2005, at The Lavender House Tea Room, in McKinney, TX. Five ladies were present and guests of Queen Sparkling Rose. All enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, getting reaquainted with old friends and of course, deciding which desert to have! Since then we have had some wonderful Hatterings, including a trips to “Dallas Blooms” at the Dallas Arboretum, makeovers, a PJ party, going to the State Conversion in San Antonio, the Tennessee Spring Fling in Gatlinburyg, TN and shopping at Sam Moon’s for lots of glitz. To share some of our fun with us, go to our link at the bottom of the column to the left of this page and click on the link “Rose’s Photo’s”

  Gatlinburg TN~Spring Fling
On April 20th, my plane began its desent into Knoxville, TN. Queen Linda,SinCity Sweetheart and I had flown from DFW to Knoxville together. We had a wonderful time spending two hours, becoming best friends during the flight. I have a new Sister and she is wonderful.

Also on the flight was Surprise Ladybug. We all got into my rental and headed for Gatlinburg, full of anticipation and excitement. We were going to meet another 319 Sisters, many of them regular posters on the QMB. We felt that we knew these ladie so well already, but now we were meeting them in person.

For the next 4 days, The Glenstone Lodge rocked with the squeals and laughter of all these Red Hat Sisters partying together, getting hugs and having a great time.

On Friday morning, we all went to the Applewood Barn for breakfast and surprised Queen Gotrocks with several angel gifts and some good ol' cash to spend at the vendors. There was also a donation made in her name to the American Heart Association to show our deep love for her and our thankfullness for answered prayer during her recent illness.

The rest of the day - WE SHOPPED! That evening we all got dressed for the luau. We had great entertainment and lots of fun.

On Saturday, we held the PJ Breakfast. So many crazy outfits were worn, we laughed till the tears ran. Jet and Avon Lady were dressed as chickens and danced the Chicken Dance. They were fantastic.

Saturday afternoon everyone went sightseeing and of course, SHOPPING. That evening was the 50's Sock Hop. We had a great band, danced, laughed and even had a limbo contest! Red Hatters know how to party. I also realized that I do not look good in a ponytail any more, lol.

On Sunday morning, we had our Farewell Breakfast. It was so sad, everyone had to say goodbye to all of these dear Sisters that we had come to love in the last 4 days. All the memories, stories, and laughter gave way to packing up cars and heading home. It was a bittersweet time for all of us.

A few of us had decided to stay on one more day and go to the Biltmore in North Carolina for a tour. After saying our teary goodbyes to the others, we got on the bus and rode. The mountains were beautiful, but we were really glad to see that mansion come into view. What a magnificent sight to behold. The American castle. We had to hurry through to see it, too soon the bus was back and we had to leave. I made up my mind that I had to come back some day, and take my time to soak in all the sights of this incredible home.

When we got back to Gatlinburg, it was more tearful goodbyes for some. Several of us went to dinner, to our rooms to pack, and off early the next morning, leaving behind the town in the mountains that held so many sweet memories for all of us now.

Princess Chloe - Official Mascot

Meet Our Mascot! Princess Chloe

The official mascot of our chapter is Princess Chloe, the Queen's third "child". Princess Chloe's fame has now hit international levels since she was featured in the "Friday Broadcast" for Feb 10, 2006. The "Broadcast" is a newsletter from Red Hat Hatquarters that is sent to every purple perks member and all Queens around the world. The staff of "Broadcast" had seen a picture of PC posted on the Queen Mother Board a while back and decided to run a feature titled "Remember our Fuzzy Wuzzy Sisters, Too." Comments were made about her patience, photogenic qualities and of course, her beautiful regalia and glitz, making her a true Red Hatter. Princess Chloe took the new notoriety with her usual tasteful diva attitude.

  Official Red Hat Society Flower!

New hybrid tulip "Drama Queen" is named the Red Hat Society's official flower. What better choice than this gorgeous furled and frilly red and purple tulip - even the perfect RH name! From the April 8, 2005 Friday Broadcast

One Million Strong and Growing
Red Hats Recognized in "Country Living Magazine" Article
Titled "Red Hat Rebels", Roy A. Kite quotes Sue Ellen Cooper, founder and Exhaulted Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society as saying "We all age, but how we choose to do so is up to us." The Red Hat Society is a "sisterhood" of women who are greeting middle age with verve, humor--and red hats. Ms. Cooper began the group in 1998 and has since watched her "disorganization" grow to about one million members worldwide. "Some people think they're supposed to age quietly and invisibly," says Sue Ellen, "but like a lot of women, I'm just not ready to be done." For more information, visit www.redhatsociety.com."
