All Directors

  • perform the duties prescribed in these bylaws and those assigned from time to time; and
  • deliver to their successors or the president all official materials within fifteen (15) days following the time at which their successors assume their duties

President

  • serve as the primary contact for all National FRUA business;
  • coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the Corporation;
  • preside at all meetings of the Corporation;
  • confirm that a quorum is present before conducting any business at any meeting of the Corporation;
  • appoint chairmen of special committees , subject to approval of the Board;
  • be authorized to sign on bank accounts; be an ex officio member of all committees;
  • coordinate email correspondence with members regarding meetings and pertinent events;
  • be responsible for submission of a chapter article in the national FRUA newsletter; and
  • perform such other duties as may be prescribed in these bylaws or assigned by the Corporation.

Past-President

  • act as aide to the incoming president;
  • preside in the absence of the president; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Secretary/Treasurer

  • record the minutes of all meetings of the Corporation;
  • maintain a current copy of the bylaws;
  • have custody of all funds of the Corporation;
  • keep books of account and records including bank statements, receipts, budgets, invoices, paid receipts and canceled checks for five years;
  • keep the Corporation in good tax standing with the IRS and State of Texas;
  • sign all bank accounts;
  • present a financial statement at general meetings, Board meetings, and at other times when requested by the Corporation or Board; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Resource Coordinator

  • maintain and distribute family resource material such as "Grow Bag" orphanage donations for traveling families, support material for pre- and post-adoptive families, and Membership Information Brochures;
  • establish a Resource Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Database Coordinator

  • import, maintain, and distribute all membership information as received from National FRUA;
  • purge local database on a regular basis to delete lapsed members if not renewed within 3 months of renewal date and to delete prospective members that have not joined within 6 months of initial contact, working closely with the Membership Coordinator and National FRUA for accuracy;
  • transfer all membership data to the Newsletter Editor for the purpose of mailing labels;
  • establish a Database Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Membership Coordinator

  • serve as the primary contact for current and prospective members;
  • contact all new and prospective members immediately following meeting attendance or inquiry;
  • contact all families preparing for travel;
  • contact all families regarding the status of their membership on a proactive basis;
  • work in conjunction with the Database Coordinator for accuracy in the local database;
  • coordinate all call tree activities;
  • establish a Membership Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Events Coordinator

  • coordinate all activities related to the Annual Holiday Party;
  • coordinate all activities related to the International Adoption Fair;
  • establish an Events Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Meeting Coordinator

  • coordinate all aspects of the general meetings including correspondence with speakers, set- up and clean-up of facility, children's activities and nursery and required paper goods;
  • establish a Meeting Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Website Administrator

  • maintain a current calendar of events, listing of Board members, links of adoption and cultural interest, and other topics as deemed appropriate;
  • establish a Website Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.

Newsletter Editor

  • assimilate, print, and distribute all Corporation correspondence, i.e. newsletters and postcards, on a schedule set by the Board, but not less than quarterly;
  • print mailing labels from the files of the Database Coordinator for all current members, professional contacts, and for prospects for the period of six months after their initial contact;
  • establish a Newsletter Committee, serving as Chairman, as deemed necessary or by request of the president or Corporation; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by the president or Corporation.
