Scripture's first mention of singing to the Lord is in Exodus 15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. Experiencing God's miracle parting of the Red Sea, the response of the Hebrew children was to praise Him with song.

King David, the great psalmist and musician after God's own heart, had singers appointed in his kingdom to offer praises and worship to the Lord. All through the rest of the Bible those who love Him sing to Him and of Him, celebrating and rejoicing. In Zephaniah 3:1, we find He even sings over us! The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. And we know that He inhabits the praises of people.

Psalm 150 instructs everything that has breath to praise Him! Praise Him with sound of the trumpet, the psaltery and harp, the timbrel and dance, with stringed instruments and organs and symbols. In this light, the Music Team of the Double R Cowboy Church, studies and practices to lead God's children in singing praises every Sunday to kick off the morning service.
