    There is Strength In Unity

    Respect ,Protect, Educate

Our Program addresses all areas which can be affected by substance abuse. Health Care, Mental Health Information, Recovery Resources, Housing, Education, Debt Elimination, and utilization of a Christian Foundation for life guidance.

    Who Is The Foundation?

The Foundation is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization; with Community Housing Development Organization status (CHDO), which desires to bring support, comfort and restoration to those who have been victimized by the "Family Disease" of Substance Abuse (both Alcohol and Drug). We are endeavoring to build a new foundation of Help, Hope and Healing in the lives of families affected by substance abuse and addiction of all kinds.

    OVERVIEW

The Foundation desires to be an oasis to the Family, Friend and Significant Other, who has been overtaken by the disease of Substance Abuse. This purpose is accomplished through developing a "New Life Foundation" based on three tenants Respect, Protect, Educate providing help, hope, and healing for hurting families and the community.

The Foundation For Family Victims of Substance Abuse believes, "NO" situation is hopeless and help is available; both for the Substance Abuser and now for the Family.

    SUBSTANCE ABUSE vs. SUBSTANCE DEPENDENCE

Substance Abuse involves the misuse of a substance resulting in significant impairment or distress without actually developing dependence.

Substance Dependence is the repeated non-medical use of a substance that harms the user or incites behavior in the user that harms others and involved physical and or psychological dependence (need).

Victim (def.)- One harmed by an act, circumstance or condition.

    Alert!

    Received In Email
I want to make you aware of a new and very dangerous form of the drug methamphetamine that is currently being sold and distributed to children in the United States.

This new form of the drug is called “strawberry quick” or “strawberry patch.” It tastes and smells like strawberries and looks like the popular candy known as Pop Rocks. It has been designed, along with other drugs in cola and fruity flavors, to appeal to the younger crowd making children of all ages vulnerable.

As you are aware, a mouthful of methamphetamine can be lethal to a child. It can be transmitted into the bloodstream by just touching it. Please talk to your children and remind them not to take any candy or drinks from anyone without your approval. Give them a description of the new methamphetamine and warn them to alert you or another adult if they see it or it is offered to them.

As we prepare for our summer break, we need to be vigilant of our children and advise them to report any suspicious activity. Remind them that our only desire is to keep them safe.

    What's Been Said...

City of Fort Worth (Housing Department) The Foundation is actively engaged in assisting the residents of Fort Worth with needed services.

City of Dallas (Former Mayor Ron Kirk)- ... The need for this type of programming is urgent in all communities, ... Only through comprehensive Victim oriented programs will families be able to break the cycle of abuse.

Asad Ehtisham, M.D. ...The field of Substance Abuse is sorely neglected and lacking in response to the families of substance abusers: and the obvious problem that does exist in this population. Providing a place for the restoration of the families is not only noble but of benefit to them...

Dr. Irwin J. Kerber, MD., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.S. Working in the field of Women's Health has given me a clear view of this population. The Foundation For Family Victims Of Substance Abuse is an inclusive concept to address this aspect of the substance problem...
