FYI...
Please check the calendar often for changes.

The tinerary is posted!!!

FYI...we have submitted your requests for teams and doubles. However, with the number of drop-offs that occured we had to submitt changes to the tournament director, but we are not certain at this time if the changes will be made.

Remember, Ms. Betty & Ms. Robbie did the best they could to accomodate everyone's wishes. We ask for your patience and understanding should the changes not suit your original requests.

At this time we have a total of 29 youth bowlers from 10 area bowling centers along with a total of six adult chaperones. FYI...two of those chaperones are a tad bit "cranky", so tread lightly.

Who we are...
For more than 18 years Mr. Don Seagraves has been taking Houston area youth bowlers via chartered bus to participate in the Jim Beleele Memorial Junior Collegiate Regional Tournament. Don and his youth bowlers have traveled to tournaments in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

Over the years our bowlers have made many new and lasting friendships with not only local bowlers, but with bowlers from other states.

Our youth bowlers have also had an opportunity to bowl on competitive lane conditions they may not otherwise have an opportunity to bowl on. We have seen happy faces and sad faces on the trip back home. But, all in all our bowlers have a great time and they are always ready for the next trip.

Although there is an opportunity to earn scholarship - we feel it necessary to make sure everyone knows this tournament is a "fun" tournament. It's a chance for our bowlers to travel and have a good time with their fellow bowling friends.

We hope that you will find this page helpful and that you will visit often. If you have questions please send us a note.

We look forward to you joining us this year as we make our way to Omaha for our "farewell tour". Yes, you read correctly...this will be Don's last year to coordinate a bus group for Regionals.

So, if you are thinking you can miss this trip and go next year...think again.

There may not be a next year for a bus group!!

2008 OMAHA TRAVEL PLANS...all updates regarding our trip are in 'purple'!

YooHoo!! The link is working. Below you will see a link for our travel itinerary and bowling information.

Don, Ms. Betty and I are looking forward to our trip and we hope that you are too. We hope that you will make this a fun trip and a memorable trip since this will be "our" last chaperoned Regional trip. We all wish you Good Luck, High Scores and Lots of Fun!!!

Thanks, Ms. Robbie

Departure

The bus will be leaving from Max Bowl North on Tuesday, June 24 at 11:00 p.m.

Adult chaperones will be on site as early as 9:30 p.m. Don "Big Dawg" Seagraves doesn't like to be behind schedule, so we ask that you all arrive on time.

Remember the bus leaves at 11:00 p.m, so you need to be at Max and on the bus by 10:30 p.m.

We will be on the road all night - making stops as needed, changing drivers in Oklahoma City & stopping someplace so we can all fresh'n up (bring a small bag with a few toiletries that you can carry on the bus with you) and we plan to arrive at our hotel in Omaha around 3:30-4:00p.m. on Wednesday.

Return

The bus will leave Omaha, Nebraska - Mockingbird Lanes at noon on Sunday June 29.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will be our stopping point for the night.

The bus will depart from Oklahoma City at 9:30ish on Monday, June 30.

We are scheduled to arrive at Max Bowl North between 6-7pm.

What to expect...
Our first full day will consist of traveling.

We generally try to schedule an outside activity for Thursday. However, nothing has been planned at this time, but there are a few things in the working. Everyone goes to practice on Thursday between 8-9pm

Tournament bowling begins on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and will continue through Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. which consists of 3 team events, 2 double/singles events. For those bowlers who qualify for the scholarship tournament, it is held Friday at 4 p.m.

We will have a pizza party - get together with other bowlers from the Houston area at our hotel on Friday night.

And, when the bus leaves the hotel we all leave the hotel. No bowlers are allowed to stay at the hotel without adult/chaperone supervision.

  What to bring...
  • Bowling equipment: Don asks that you bring no more than 3 bowling balls...your typical tournament arsenal
  • Packing: Bring what you need, but We ask that you pack as light as possible for the 6 days we will be gone.
  • Snacks: We will have coke & diet coke, dr pepper & diet dr pepper, sprite, bottled water & an assortment of snacks (chips, crackers, cookies) for the bus trip to Omaha and home. If there is something special that you want, then please bring it with you.
  • Comfort: Bring your special pillow and blanket. You will want this for the bus ride.
  • Movies: You can bring DVD movies for the trip, but let's try to keep the movie a PG-13...not everyone is fond of nasty language, blood & guts and if there is too much loving & kissing Don will get all shy & embarassed.
  • MONEY:Don't forget to bring your food money.

What will get YOU in trouble...

  1. Attitude - leave that bad attitude at home
  1. Language - leave those nasty words at home
  1. Disrespect - we will teach you quick, fast, and in a hurry how to be respectful of others
  1. Slamming doors
  1. Being loud in the hallways
  1. Reports from the front desk
  1. Damages to hotel or bus property
  1. Damages to the property of others
  1. Contraband - thinking you are sneaky and bringing cigarettes, beer, wine, or alcohol/drugs of any nature on this trip will not be tolerated. We have our ways of finding out and we will do room searches and luggage searches if we feel the need. We don't care how old you are and we don't care when you tell us that your parents don't care, because we know they do. The fact is we care, this a "YOUTH" trip and we won't put up with it.
All we ask is this...if you have bad habits - leave them at home. Don't let your behavior spoil the trip for everyone else.
