A little about me and some of my poetry...
This site contains poems about music, family, healing and Hope of the Human Spirit!
My name is Jamee Rebekah Lang but I go by "Bek" and I am the Baby of four girls in the family. I am 37 years old as of this particular day on July 9, 2007. I have been writing poetry, short stories and lyrics since
October of 1985.
I am very proud to say I have been clean of pain pills and almost three years clean of narcotic shots for my never ending headaches and/or migraines.
It is a hard road but well worth the
bumps and bruises.
I was born 6/5/1970 but my "Second birthday" is September 14, 2004. Life is good. Narcotics Anonymous is my home now.
Anyway, what I had wanted to say was that some poems may be about Narcotics Anonymous, so I give my site the rating of
"Pg-13" just to make sure!
So, Thank you for visiting my site!
Please, constructive criticism and
feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Smile!
Most precious thing in the world
Your skin is soft as velvet,
Your hair is smooth and fine,
You are stronger than you think!
Yet, so tiny in size.
God loves you every day,
as do I.

Being Disabled...
I have a Long
History of medical
problems. It has taught me
that
1)You cannot accept things
at face value.
2)You must work at what
life has been handed to
you.
3)Your faith in Jesus is
so very important.
4)You must always be
striving to research and
learn new things.
5)You Always have a
Light on inside of
you, no matter how
dim it may get!
Remember Number Five!

Autumn Leaves
Golden leaves,
fall from trees.
Tinted with orange,
colors stream forth.
Autumn is here,
don’t shed a tear;
Love the season,
It’s here for a reason!!!

Update Story- Living on my Own, again for the first time almost 11 years!
I had written the story of “Becoming Independent, Yet Again!”
I found out in June after my birthday, my lease in Dallas was up on July 31st. So, basically I had to have a New place to live as of August 1st! Talk about having to move fast! I decided to move back to Tarrant County and live near my Mom and two married sisters, Julie and Anna.
Anna has the two grandchildren, boys Joseph and Matthew! Joseph is fourteen on the 22nd of this month and Matthew just turned eight years last month! My nephews are growing! Anna sent me pictures of them growing up all the time when they lived in Minnesota. Now that they live here in Texas, you would think they do not take as many pictures but they still do! Anna is getting pretty good with the Digital Camera! Gosh, I remember when all there was for film was the type of number 110 film. Then, I thought we were doing really good to get the 35mm camera out! Now we have Digital Cameras and the Computer is so popular and commonplace now!
When I graduated from College with a major in Computer Information Systems, in May of 1992, I was on the forefront of the Computer revolution in terms of the Personal Computer. Lotus 1-2-3 had just come out and I knew it and taught it to the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department! Exhausting work!
I have been living on my own now for almost two months.
My rent is under $520 a month and the apartment is a total of 660 square feet! I thought that was a real good deal! I got a special the apartment complex was having and it worked out fabulous for me for I did not have much money and Mom could not help me with anything. The first month rent and move-in special was only $99 dollars! Then, the complex let me “pop” a balloon and it would say either $100 or $200 off September’s rent. My balloon said $100 dollars off! I was pleased! Starting October 3rd, I shall pay the regular price in rent.
Today is the 17th of September and I am low on groceries and running out of toilet paper, milk, garbage bags and I am addicted to Caffeine and have to have some form of Diet Soda at least every other day. So, having No money anymore for the rest of the month, my dear Mom went grocery shopping for me and picked up two prescriptions I needed.
She gave Grapevine Drug Mart a check to hold until I can pay them the cash on the 3rd of October. I shall be going without my Topamax for about 6 days at least and am not sure if I can hold on that long. I am sure Norvell, the pharmacist, can give me about ten pills though until I can pay him.
Mom told me she had money to pick up those things and instead of coming to get me, she went ahead and got them and just dropped it off. I have re-injured my left knee somehow, again and she did not want me to walk on it. Moms are so good and sweet at times. I needed milk, trash bags, toilet paper and Diet Coke. It is vital that I have some form of caffeine at least every other day. Mom has been watching her gas tank for the prices right now are so high! $3.00 for a galloon of gas! It takes $30 to fill up Moms car. Because Mom takes me to so many places, including the doctor, I shall fill her up once a month! Mom was only able to get me 1 two liter of Diet Coke and a bottle of Vitamin D Milk. She had that little Cash and I felt horrible for I thought she would have enough to get things from the way she sounded and acted. I will learn and I should have known! She said I have an extra trash bag from the laundry bag, so that helps and then I have two toilet paper rolls for the weekend. Mom said that something should be happening on Monday, the 19th of September and she should be getting some more business! (money possibility – law or real estate) Bless her heart! Mom tries so hard for she has borrowed soooooo much money from Julie as well as Kristina, Anna and me. I know, in time, we shall get
paid back. Else, Lord help me for even saying this, Mom will be sure we are paid when she dies and goes to Heaven. Yes, I know dear Mom shall get there and her time is coming in either 2007 or 2011. I assume her diabetes will have gotten the best of her. Mom and her male counterpart, are leaving to go to East Texas on either Tuesday, the 20th of September or Thursday, the 22nd of September. They visit there about once, maybe twice a month at the very most.
Mom told me, before she left, that her significant “Other”, was going to stay alone in East
Texas a few days. This made Mom Very Happy, indeed!
She could have some private time and personal space back at her house. Actually I should start thinking of it as their house! He is somewhat older than Mom but
they have a “unique” relationship! Then, when Mom was dropping off the groceries, she said he had changed his mind and may not leave for East Texas until Thursday now! That is the reason for the indecision of either to leave on the 20th or 22nd of September for East Texas!
Moms man has grown children in East Texas and they
have families of their own as well with grandkids!
I have started to do my laundry over at Mom’s house this month. I do not have the extra money for the quarters at the Laundromat in the apartment complex! It took $20 in quarters to do my laundry this past month of August. However, when I was doing Laundry at their house, HE was not real thrilled with the prospect of me being there for a few hours. I noticed this when I was there the first week of September. I told him he would have to get used to me doing my laundry there at least once to twice a month for I am so poor! Mom also said he has now decided not to stay alone for a few days in East Texas. I believe her exact wording was “Damn it!” Spoken like a true word warrior who desperately needs some space right now! I feel for Mom but onward she continues, as usual.
Mom is gaining valuable law experience with her court cases and private adoptions, divorces and executing wills, etc. I am so very proud of her and my money each month from Disability went to keeping her and I fed and electricity on while living in Roanoke, Texas, before we moved. Mom is 62 years this coming October 11th and started Law school in Ft. Worth at Texas Wesleyan University in August of 1999. We had just moved to Roanoke in April of 1999. She did a Part, Part-time four and a half year program while continuing to work full-time in the field of real estate. She graduated in December 2003 and passed the Bar Exam to become a Full-fledged attorney in November 2004! She took the test in February 2004 but Texas, good old Texas, is the only state with a period to wait for return of Bar Exam results from February to November 5th! Talk about making you sweat! Geesh!
I just now realized I have not allotted for rent in this month’s budget! Yikes! I better redo it right away! I thought I had extra money this coming month and was wondering why. I am soooooo excited about my new way of eating “right” and healthily that I made a HUGE grocery list. I shall have to trim that down to size for I now have to take $520 from all that money!
Life is going well. The realities of living on my own are real and prevalent, but I am making it with
a worth while experience and shall update you every three to six months!
