Homeschoolers' Hearts & Hugs consists of homeschooling families throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, as well as many of the outer-lying rural areas.

MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ANY HOMESCHOOLING FAMILY.

We do not require families to sign a statement of faith.

OUR GROUP OFFERS:

  • TWELVE MONTH MEMBERSHIP
  • Unlike many other homeschool groups, we schedule activities year 'round. Your membership dues cover June 1 through May 31 of each year.

  • EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS
  • We offer many educational field trips throughout the year. Examples of places we have visited, or will visit in the future, include museums, historical sites, currency facility, zoos, railroads, fire and police stations, courts, etc.

  • VOLUNTEER PROJECTS
  • We offer our members the chance to make a difference in the lives of others through volunteer projects. We regularly participate in projects with the elderly, as well as work with various children's homes, homeless shelters, animal shelters, etc.

  • SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
  • Our members have many opportunities to meet with other homeschooling families. We attend homeschool skate days, bowling, park picnics, lunch & movie days, weekend campouts, and "back to school" and "end of school" parties, and holiday parties, just to mention a few. Teens also have the opportunity to participate in a "Teens Only" group. Some of their activities include Go-Kart rides at Celebration Station, laser tag and ice skating.

  • INCENTIVE PROGRAMS
  • Members have the opportunity to participate in several reading incentive programs, including Braum's "Book Buddy" and Six Flag's/Weekly Reader's "Six Hours of Reading" program. We also offer our members other incentive coupons good at various McDonald's, Ci Ci's Pizza, Chick-Fil-A, etc.

  • TIME FOR KIDS
  • Our members enjoy discounted subscription rates to Time for Kids, a great "current event" resource for Kindergarten through 7th grade students.

  • GOD'S WORLD NEWS
  • Our members enjoy discounted subscription rates to God's World News, a wonderful current events paper from a Christian perspective.

  • DISCOVERY
  • Our members enjoy discounted subscription rates to DISCOVERY, a great science supplement for students.

  • SCIENCE WEEKLY
  • Our members enjoy discounted subscription rates to Science Weekly. Science Weekly offers readers information on various scientific topics, as well as easy to follow directions for your own experiments!

  • SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

  • THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE MAGAZINE
  • The Old Schoolhouse magazine is offered free to our members on an as available basis. This magazine is packed full of great homeschooling articles!! It's a must for any homeschooling family!

  • THE REVIEW MAGAZINE
  • Our members receive The Review magazine free of charge. This magazine is courtesy of the Texas Home School Coalition. It will help keep you up to date on various political agendas affecting homeschoolers. It also includes homeschooling stories from parents around the state.

  • CONVENTION HAND-OUT BAGS
  • New members will receive a convention hand-out bag full of information and flyers on various curriculum publishers and other items of interest to homeschoolers. (quantities are limited)

  • MENTORING
  • We welcome your emails with any questions you may have regarding the homeschooling process. Our members are always ready to lend a helping hand and offer advice!

  • YAHOO E-LOOP
  • The Yahoo email loop is set up for the convenience of our members. It is a place where we can share whatever is on our minds. If you have questions about a curriculum, want to buy, sell or trade items, find a helpful link you would like to share, hear of a good deal/sale---whatever---the loop is the place to share!

We also have a monthly poll and photo album where we share photos from Hearts and Hugs activities as well as personal family photos.

Membership is $15.00 per year. Membership runs from June 1-May 31 and covers your entire immediate family.

To join Homeschoolers' Hearts & Hugs just drop us an email requesting an enrollment form. Please include your full name and contact information (including address) along with your children's names, birthdate and interests. This helps us determine what activities to schedule.

You may pay the $15.00 membership by clicking on the tab below. Even if you don't currently have a REVOLUTION account (similar to Paypal), it's very quick and easy to set up...and there's never a charge for using REVOLUTION to pay your membership. (checks and money orders are also accepted)

      HOMESCHOOLERS' HEARTS & HUGS T-SHIRTS

T-shirts are available in a variety of colors and have a "little red school house" with the word "HOMESCHOOL" on the school-house. Under the school-house reads: Homeschooler's Hearts & Hugs, A Homeschool Community Volunteer Program. Generally, shirt orders are taken once per school year. If you miss the deadline, please request to be on the waiting list for the next order.

Purchase is NOT required to participate in any Hearts & Hugs activity. However, members who do purchase the shirts wear these to all Hearts & Hugs events in order to identify ourselves as a group, and to show our homeschool pride!
