On this page you will find a brief description of the Social Events hosted and coordinated by Homeschoolers Hearts and Hugs. These events are open ONLY to current Homeschoolers Hearts and Hugs members. (for social events open to non-members of Hearts and Hugs, please see "Homeschool Happenings") Some Social events will be in conjunction with, or immediately after, a field trip or volunteer project, while others will be "stand-alone" events. Please note, we also schedule "last minute" social events as opportunities become available.
When signing up for field trips, volunteer activities or social events please include your FULL NAME, contact information and number of adults and children attending, INCLUDING THEIR AGES. It is very important that you RSVP to ensure you are notified in the event an activity has to be rescheduled. Since the majority of our activities require we confirm the number of participants prior to the event, please abide by sign up deadlines.
Social Events are open to Hearts & Hugs members only.

Cooler weather is coming- just perfect for biking! Come join us in Waxahachie for some fresh air and socializing. We are going on a fun bike ride through a local park. There are lots of picnic tables, huge trees, 2 play grounds and over 6 miles of wide concrete trail. Bring your bike and picnic lunch!
Please contact us for more information, or to sign up! This month's social event will be in conjunction with our visit to the Dallas Arboretum. We'll have a picnic lunch, stroll through the beautiful gardens and the pumpkin patch for photo opportunities, and visit the exhibits, including Pioneer Farm. It's time to sign up for our annual Valentine's Party scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2009. We will be meeting at Ci Ci's Pizza, located at 1896 W. Moore Ave. (Hwy. 80) in Terrell. This is at the intersection of HWY. 80 (Moore St.) and HWY. 205 out of Rockwall. (Terrell is approx. 15-20 mins. from Mesquite and Rockwall)
We will have a Valentines card exchange as well as a craft and game for the children, and parents and children alike can "stuff" themselves on the all you can eat pizza, salad and pasta buffet! Don't forget, Ci Ci's has brownies and cinnamon rolls, too!
Participants are not required to purchase a meal, but if you wish to do so, meals will be purchased individually. (not as a group)
We will meet at 11:30 a.m., and families generally stay a couple of hours, but this is a come and go event so just come when you can! We'll be there until at least 1:30 or so! (maybe later!)
Things to bring:
*Please be aware this particular Ci Ci's does not accept debit/credit cards. However, they do have an on-site ATM (for a fee). They DO accept checks.
Everyone had a great time last year, and we can't wait for this years' party!
Deadline to sign up is January 30, 2009! (this will give everyone time to make/buy/address their Valentine cards!) Please state whether or not you will be providing any craft supplies and/or games.

We'll be meeting at an area park for a picnic lunch, playtime, and some fun Easter activities. (weather permitting)

We'll be meeting at Sonic for a refreshing treat and some playtime!
Check back a little later for all the details. Join us for our annual End of School Bash and Meet 'n Greet scheduled for May 22nd, beginning at noon! This will be a "come and go" event, so drop in at your convenience!
There will be fun for everyone! Bring your picnic lunch, some lawn chairs or blankets and your favorite lawn games, bubbles, balls, bikes/scooters, board games, ect.
The kids can play while the parents have some time to relax and visit with other homeschooling families.
We will have free convention bags, literature and homeschool magazines, free to all visiting families, while supplies last. We will also be accepting new member and renewal memberships for the 2009-2010 Hearts and Hugs year.
This event is open to EVERYONE, not just Hearts and Hugs members. This is a great opportunity for those considering homeschooling to get some hand-outs and chat with homeschooling families, both new and veteran, in a very relaxed environment!
