On this page you will find listings of homeschool events that are generally not field trip related. These are more or less "social" events though they can sometimes be educational! (for information on various classes and other learning opportunities, please see "Of Interest to Homeschoolers")

This page is divided into two sections. The first section lists events offered by various organizations and businesses. The second section contains information on TEEN ONLY activities.
As with any general public information, please contact the individual organization or company to verify details.
The events listed in this first section are NOT coordinated or hosted by Hearts & Hugs. These activities are offered by various organizations and businesses in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Again, these events are open to ALL homeschoolers.
DR. PEPPER STARCENTER ICE SKATING HOMESCHOOL SKATE DAYS (Farmers Branch, TX.)--Cost: $3.00, includes skate rental
The Dr. Pepper StarCenter invites all homeschoolers and their families to ice skate every Thursday from 1:45-3:15 for only $3.00 per person! (includes your skate rental!) (please contact the center to confirm days and times have not changed since this posting)
Many homeschooled students attend every week. Please join us, make new friends, see your current friends, and get in a little excercise that's fun!

The Dr. Pepper StarCenter is located at 12700 N. Stemmons Freeway in Farmers Branch, 75234, at the corner of 635 & 35.
THUNDERBIRD ROLLER RINK HOMESCHOOL SKATE DAYS (Plano, TX.)--Cost: $3.00, includes skate rental
The Thunderbird Roller Rink (3200 Thunderbird Lane, Plano, TX.) offers a homeschool skate on the first and third Fridays of each month from 1:00-3:00. Cost is $3.00 per skater, which includes roller skates. (rollerblades are an aditional $3.00) (please contact the center to confirm days and times have not changed since this posting)
Refreshments are available:
All ages welcome. Parents need to supervise smaller children, and a parent or designated adult is required for each child – no drop-offs. Keep shoes and coats in the cubbies provided, drinks and food within the snack bar.
Directions: From Central Exp. (I-75), exit west onto Parker Road; pass Target on the left. Take second left turn onto Thunderbird Road (United Central Bank is on left). Roller rink is on the left.
Showplace Bowling Lanes--Cost: $2.25 per child, per game, includes shoe rental
AMF Showplace Bowling Lanes in Garland, TX. offers a homeschool bowling day YEARROUND!
Homeschool bowling days are every Thursday from 1:00-2:30 p.m. (please contact the center to confirm days and times have not changed since this posting)
