Because of his score, he is now considered a junior in college--as well as high school and is receiving college credits all for FREE! When I die and God asks me, ‘...So, tell me something that you did, that you did right’... I'll say, ‘I enrolled my homeschooled son in Jean Burk's SAT class!’ I tell EVERYONE about your class!” - Judy D. (Florida)

The Summer PE program will run for 5 weeks on Wednesdays from July 13th through August 10th from 10 am to 1 pm. Each session will be an hour and a half long. (for Fall PE Schedule see our website or email Eva)

The Library is right next door and you will also have use of the other parts of the facility. This is also close to outdoor fields which Steve may take advantage of sometimes to provide your children with a more rich experience.

The cost for the 5 week program is $50 per child, paid to the MAC when you sign up. You may also register online.

If you do not have a MAC card there is a one time annual membership fee:

Resident (76063 zip) Non Resident (not 76063 zip)

  • Youth 2-17Y $5/year $12/year

  • Adult 18-54 $10/year $17/year

  • Senior 55+ $5/year $12/year

  • *Family $25/year $32/year

  • * A family membership is good for up to 6 people living in the same household.

    Here are Steve’s primary goals:

  • FUN! I really want the exercise, games, etc. to be fun for every child regardless of their present skill and athletic ability.

  • LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT--We play different sports--learn how to enjoy and play all major sports. I want every child to develop a basic level of proficiency in every major team sport. I am trying to help each child develop basic athletic skills and confidence related to sports in general: health & fitness for overall strength and coordination and team experience.

  • My goal is to have them learn how to play all sorts of team games with the tactics and positions so each one will have the confidence and basic skills to join any sport whether it is a pick-up situation, organized program or competitive Select one.

  • LIFE-LESSONS--Playing sports is a great environment to build self-confidence, social skills and life-lessons. I love sharing stories of life and biblical principles to support parents in raising healthy children. Sports and competition are not really about winning and losing but rather developing our abilities and appreciating our God-given talents--recognizing, appreciating and celebrating our different gifts.

Steve's Bio: I am a missionary kid and my wife, Eva, and I have home-schooled our five children. Three have graduated with GPA's of 4.0 from UTA! I was a two-time All-American from Wheaton College, played on the US Olympic soccer team and played professionally for seven years in the NASL and Europe. For the past twenty years, I have been a missionary—pastor and sports evangelist. I train kids in soccer at all levels, run soccer camps around the world and served for six years as a pastor and sports evangelist in Portugal. I have a USSF B license and continue to run outreach soccer skills and camps and soccer mission trips. I also played Club A volleyball and tennis both on the high school and college team, earning state champion in doubles in Illinois.

Steve Long grew up playing soccer with friends in the dirt streets of Brazil. After graduating from Wheaton College, Steve played in 1979 and 1980 on the US Olympic team, completing a 32-nation European tour. Since then, Steve has also played for the Chicago Sting (NASL), the Memphis Americans (MISL), the Las Vegas Americans (MISL), and the Jackson Rockers (MISL indoor). He holds a USSF “B” National Coaching License.

Steve has been training kids around the world—from African refugees in Portugal, to gang kids in Miami, to local American kids who hope to hone their skills and improve their game.

Steve’s philosophy is to improve by applying skills in actual game settings. He teaches plenty of fun, samba-style, Brazilian moves and gives players plenty of time to try them out in three-on-three or five-on-five games.
