From the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 6, 2013:
Quorum: two motions
Albert Lopez Commander
Chris makes a motion to dispense with regular meeting format to get to the BBQ discussion. Seconded by Tori. No discussion. Passed.
Good of the Legion:
There was lengthy discussion about the needs of the BBQ.
It was decided that we are unsure of the manpower needed; somewhere between 15 and 20 volunteers needed.
Charles and Albert, unsure of the viability, decided to ask for a show-of-hands vote to withdraw from continuing to plan.
A motion was made by Chris, 2nd by Robert, to withdraw from doing the BBQ in April. Discussion: There is not enough volunteers,
or drive from those who did volunteer, to bring success to the venture. The vote was unanimous. Motion passed.
In the stead of a BBQ it was decided to do something much smaller and within our means for the American Legion 95th Birthday.
A motion was made by Chris, 2nd by Paul Torres, to plan an American Legion Birthday Party,
with interested parties bringing details to the February General meeting.
Discussion. Two possible locations were discussed. The Steak and Lube restaurant, or the Harley Davidson of Waco grounds. Motion passed.
With 1 more renewal we will end January with 104% membership. Keep trying to get others to join us!
The meeting was Adjourned at 4pm.
