  UPDATE!!

We are going to be revamping the web site and organization. Please be patient while things are "under construction." We should have updates up in the next month or so. Thank you for your understanding. It's going to be great in '08!

Welcome to the latest News and Updates from InterDoptee

InterDoptee is proud to be working with area businesses and individuals to promote and unite the local community. For this fundraiser, we are accepting donations to sponsor an area wide t-shirt. Donation amounts start with as little as $50. Your name will be displayed prominently on the back, boldy proclaiming where you are proud to call home. For a larger donation, we can include a company logo with contact information. Currently, we are working in the Northwest part of Houston. However, if your business would like to participate, we can arrange other locations to be represented as well.

Current sponsors and supporters, if you would like to receive one of our free t-shirts, send us an e-mail with your name, address and size. In about a month, we'll be glad to get one out to you. If your company is interested in sponsoring our fundraiser, please call or e-mail us. It's a great time to get involved.

The 2007-2008 Scholarship and Grant Recipients for InterDoptee are Daniel Martig and M. Weimer!

First off, we would like to thank all the applicants for their submissions. Like our inaugural year, it was extremely difficult for us to make our final selections. Deliberations took nearly four weeks and an additional essay had to be submitted to further narrow our decision. We made sure to critique the essays anonymously and fairly. Consideration was also made for diversity, scope and relevant experience. As challenging as this was, we are now confident that this year's recipients will represent the international adoption community with pride and leadership. Our sincere congratulations to Daniel Martig and M. Weimer.

Each are receiving an initial $500 disbursement to pursue work pertaining to international adoption or higher education goals. To read their essays in their entirety, please see our links section.

If you would like to contribute to this year's scholarship fund, there is still time. We are accepting $5, $10, $15, $25 and $50 donations. We truly appreciate your continued support. InterDoptee scholarships are awarded to international adoptees pursuing higher education who demonstrate strong leadership abilities, understanding of adoptee culture and an ability to articulate personal and professional goals in a personal essay. If you would like to automatically be added to our email list, please leave us your information. Good luck!

UPDATE!! We have raised $100 from your efforts! Thank you for helping us reach our GOAL!

This has been the easiest way to make a difference on two fronts. We are helping the environment and raising money for the scholarship fund. Because this has been such an easy fundraiser, we would like to continue the program into this year. We would love it if you got your friends, family and co-workers also involved. If you would like more baggies, e-mail us and we'll send you self-addressed, postage-paid mailers that will ship directly to Empties4Cash. Our partner in this fundraiser will send us donations directly so there are no additional steps for anyone. Thanks again, for supporting this project and making our dream a reality. Let's keep up the good work!

We Welcome Jin Lee to the Board

Jin and Max during a visit to Houston

We would like to welcome Jin Lee to the InterDoptee family. Jin will be directing planning and development for the organization. She has already been actively involved in planning new programs and fundraisers and brings fresh enthusiasm to the position.

Jin graduated Ave Maria School of Law and currently resides in California. She is bi-lingual in English and Korean and lends her experiences of being 1.5 generation to the adoption community.

I am starting to do animation and have been able to reconcile with my family. Also I spent the past semester teaching art to at risk teens and I am now the director of youth programs for the Justice School in Boston. Take Care, your help has meant a lot to me.”

Joshua Solomon

“I am proud to say that I am enrolled this semester at Cal State and my classes start on Jan 29th. I’m very excited to attend the university. I have changed my major to sociology, involving my studies in criminal justice, social work. I would like to be involved as much as I can. I feel a need inside for sharing and uderstanding. Thank you for you concerns.
