What is the KHS PTSO?

KHS PTSO is the King High School Parent Teacher Student Organization. The organization was established to support the students of C.E. King High School.

Why should I join and/or support the PTSO?

We strongly encourage everyone affiliated with C.E. King High School and the Sheldon community (adults/students) to get involved, so that we can assist in making our high school students' secondary education the most treasured experience ever!

How can I become a member of the PTSO?

Individuals interested in becoming a member of the PTSO may pick up a membership form during the KHS Open House on Monday, September 15th or at the KHS Main Office.

Why should students join the PTSO?

High school students in grades 9-12 are eligible to join the PTSO and the name Parent Teacher Student Organization reflects the opportunity for students to get involved and share their ideas and opinions on programs and projects that will better benefit their education.

How can I stay informed of what's happening at King High School?

I am beginning to feel overwhelmed, it this normal?

Yes, you and your student may feel a bit overwhelmed at the beginning of a school year; and more so if this is your first year in high school or at a new school. A friendly face or voice from one of our PTSO officers can make your transition easier, please feel free to contact us by using the left sidebar section, Contact Us or scroll down to the bottom of the Home Page and complete the Contact us here section.

How can I get involved at C.E. King High School?

Join the PTSO by completing a Membership form. There are many opportunities for individuals to volunteer within the PTSO and other school related activities, such as Back-to-School Bash, Homecoming Festivities, College Night, College Tours, Concession Stand, Project Grad and special projects. Many projects vary in duration from long-term (throughout the school year) to short-term (one day)events. If your student is involved in Athletics, the Band, Cheerleading or Fine Arts; there are Booster Clubs that support those programs that you may consider joining. Volunteering at KHS is a great way to support your son or daughter, their school and to get acquainted with other community members.

What is Homecoming '2007' Festivities?

Last school year the PTSO began what it hopes will be a continued tradition of Homecoming activities; some of those activities include but are not limited to the Community Block Party, Powder Puff Game, the King and Queen and Royal Court Homecoming Dance. This year the PTSO will be adding to these events with a Parade and Carnival.

Where do I park when visiting the campus?

Parents and visitors may park in the designated parking area in front of the Main Campus and Annex Bldg (located on Crenshaw)
