Our History
Macedonia Baptist Church was originally established November 2, 1890 at the old Florence School House with about 40 members present.

The community name of Macedonia apparently derived from its Macedonia Baptist Church, rather than the other way around, according to the Mesquite history, "A Stake in the Prairie."
The church was first located near the Casa View Shopping Center. The first pastor was Rev. H.Y. Lively.

In 1892, a formal church house was built on Frank Motley's farm, and was moved to "Quit" Murphee's farm in 1907.

The church moved to its present location in 1945.

The current pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church is John Livaudias.

His father, F.L. Livaudias pastored this same church from 1950 to 1973. Excerpted from Mesquite News; April 20, 2000.

Mission Statement
The Macedonia Baptist Church mission statement charges the church with fulfilling the great commission of Matthew 8:19-20 and Acts 1:8, which provide three actions:

"One, is to try and reach as many people as we can with the gospel of Christ, both in our community, our immediate area, our country and the world through personal ministry, church-wide evangelism and world-wide missions.

The second is to fulfill the ordinance of baptism with those who choose to receive Christ, thereby making their profession public.

Third is to disciple others into faithful service."

Do You Know Jesus?

Dear Friend: The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." We are all sinners, not because of anything we have done or not done, but rather because of the nature we inherited. We are all sinners because of the first man, Adam, who disobeyed God as we find in Romans 5:12 which says: "Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned;"

Though the wages, or result, of sin is death, God's amazing grace provides the gift of life to all who will receive it. God's promise to us in Romans 6:23 states: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." We also find in John 10:10 that Jesus, God's only begotten Son, came into this world that we not only have life, but an abundant life.

You may now be asking, "How can I be forgiven as a sinner, receive this abundant life, and spend eternity with God at the time of my death?" Here is what God said we all must do. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "...I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Dear friend, all you must do to receive this gift of Salvation, is found in Romans 10:9-10 which says: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Won't you ask Jesus into your heart and receive His gracious gift of eternal life today?
