We are the Red Haute Divas, officially recognized by the Red Hat Society (www.redhatsociety.com) as Chapter #50036 in Sugar Land, Texas since January, 2005. We will soon be celebrating our 5th anniversary in beautiful Sugar Land Square, where the club was formed five years ago.
We are a diverse group of ladies, ranging in age from the 50's to the 80's, who dress up in red hats and purple attire to step out regularly to have fun together. Yes, our red hats and purple outfits cost a few dollars, but our invigorated lives? - priceless.
We not only celebrate the fellowship of each other during a monthly luncheon and activity, but frequently join other Red Hat chapters and state conventions for still more fun. Our philosophy? you ask. We believe that it is not how old we are that matters, but rather how we are old.
We currently have 25 members in our chapter and are not accepting new members at this time. However, in the future, we may have openings. There exists a waiting list of 'wannabe' divas who are eager to become paying members.
If a person is interested in learning more about the Red Hat Society, she may be invited to attend a function as a member's guest. She needs to wear the signature red and purple attire when doing so though as well as notify the queen and the hostess of the month that she will be present.
As of December 31, 2009, the Red Hat Society (RHS) will only recognize those divas who have become supportive members of the RHS in their record of the Red Haute Divas Chapter #50036. Thus, divas are in the process of becoming supportive members at this time. See members list (left column); *RHS* indicates those divas already registered. Registration is pending for the following divas: Sharon Gorman, Marty Klashman, Wanda Kolkhorst, Carolyn Meyer & Alma Villarreal.

Activity: Guided tour of the Christ Church Cathedral, part of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, at 1117 Texas Avenue. Activity: Tour of the Bellville, TX Castle with box lunch included ($12.50 per). Demonstration at Phenix Knives Blacksmith Shop. Shopping at Rocking B Cowboy Supply Store (20% discount), Amy's Unique Boutique (15% discount), etc.

Activity: Meet at the George Ranch in Richmond at 9:45 AM. Enjoy a $12 tour of this historic Fort Bend County landmark, followed by a lunch at Chile's Restaurant in the Brazos Town Center.
15 divas gathered today for a Plan B that hostesses Ester and Pat put into place in case of rain, followed by lunch at Chili's Restaurant. Plan B: watching the movie 'Nights in Rodanthe' together in the Richmond Library, Room 2B. In attendance were Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Carolyn Azevedo, Julie Beu, Pat Hayden, Virginia Lemmon, Edna Matamoros, Dolores Patterson, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler, Norma Smith, Marcelle Smitley, Barbara Trotter & Ester Wleczyk.

Activity: Shopping at San Marcus Mall. Stay overnight at the Embassy Suites in San Marcus. Eat/drink/play games/have 'show and tell'/shop some more!
7 divas traveled to San Marcus for shopping at the outlet stores and stayed overnight at the Embassy Suites: Susie Adair, Sue Adam, Jolene Maurer, Arlene Rivenes, Evelyn Rosenbaum, Diane Schuler & Ester Wleczyk.
November 13, 2009 (2nd Friday)

Activity: Presentation of Silpada Jewelry and Lauren Arnold's Jewelry Designs as well as a Make-up Demo by Alma at Marty's home. Lunch at Bombay to Beijing.
15 divas participated in the event at Marty's home. Diva Barbara Trotter joined us for lunch at the restaurant.
