ROCKWALL ISD RECOGNIZES 4-H AS AN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY!
During the October 2008 meeting of the Rockwall ISD School Board, 4-H was approved as an extra-curricular activity for the district. Along with this approval, Todd Williams and Emily Nichols were also recognized as adjunct staff.
Because the Extension Agents are recognized as adjunct staff, 4-H'ers would be considered on field trips when competing in 4-H events during school hours.
Most of the school districts across the state do recognize 4-H as an extra-curricular activity. As such, the school district also recognizes that 4-H'ers abide by the "No Pass, No Play" rule. For most schools, this means you must pass all course work in the previous grading period to participate in an extra-curricular activity in the current grading period.
Some variations may apply with private, parochial and home schools.
