Attire

"Of course, to be a red-hatter, one should wear a red hat and a clashing purple ensemble at all meetings/outings to keep up the spirit and purpose of the (dis) organization. We also suggest rather stongly that women under 50 stick to the pink hat and lavender attire until 'THE BIRTHDAY!" (Excerpt from Sue Ellen Cooper) Our group is a casual, and fun group of women. It is not expected that you purchase expensive hats or clothing. We do expect that you adhere to the colors associated with the RHS. One exception, during your birthday month it's traditional, but not mandatory, that you wear our colors reversed; purple hat with red clothing. (Or pink-hatters wear lavender hat with pink clothing.) You must attend functions in full regalia, (red hat, purple outfit for women 50+, or pink hat, lavender outfit for women - 50). We know that it is very hot in Texas during the summer and early fall, but we ask that you stick to the true sprit of the Red Hats, wear a lighter weight hat or feather foo-foo of some type in your hair. Dressing in lighter weight clothes will also help with the warmer season.

Having Fun

Our group was formed with the purpose of Having Fun! We want all of the ladies to form lasting relationships. Attending meetings and outings will only strengthen our bonds with each other. Get to know every one in the group, we all have something to offer.

Dues

We collect yearly dues of $10.00 a person to go towards door prizes, and birthday gifts for our members; we have raffles every so often that may cost a small fee. You must pay your yearly dues to be Active in the chapter.

Meetings

Along with our activity of the day we discuss upcoming events, and would like "volunteer" members to be an Event Coordinator, or "Queen For The Day" for future meeting dates.

Event Coordinators

Coordinating an Event is on a volunteer basis, but remember it takes everyone to participate in making our chapter successful! When you are a coordinator/and or Queen for the Day, please get the information to the Queen so she can publish details on the website at least 3 weeks before the Event.

RSVP

The Queen for the day/ and or coordinator would need to know how many is coming at the least 3 days in advance. Please RSVP either to the coordinator or the Queen. This will help with getting enough food prepared, or making reservations.

Showing Up to an Event Without RSVPing

If you would like to bring a quest, that will be fine, but please let the Queen know so that she can get a head count.

Signing Up for an Event and Not Attending

Things happen which cause all of us not to be able to attend an Event on the day it's happening. Please let the coordinator or the Queen know if you cannot attend.

Be on Time

Carpooling

Let's try and carpool when possible. Some of our members do not drive, do not drive at night, or long distatnces. Please let the Queen know if you need a ride in plenty of time so she can coordinate a ride for you.

Comments from the Queen

For an organization with "No Rules" I sure have made a lot of guidelines for our chapter! Actually, these are just reminders for all of us, where we can have a fun time. I want to thank all of the chapter members for their continuous support. It takes all of us to make our chapter a success or failure. But with the wonderful, and beautiful women of our chapter, our time spent together is always fabulous! I'm looking forward to years of fun and friendship with you all!
