ASPCA PET POISON HOTLINE
The ASPCA has a poison control hotline phone number for pets. This is the only dedicated animal poison control hotline in the world manned by veterinarians, not telephone operators. The number is staffed 24/7 at (888) 4ANI-HELP or (888) 426-4435. FERAL CAT HOTLINE If you need assistance with feral cats, please call the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition Hotline at 210-877-9067 and leave a message.

- Put up flyers in the general area where you found the animal, as well as in the local shelters and veterinary offices.
- Click here to search/browse local lost pet postings (see the Public Postings box on the left side of the page).
- Call the San Antonio Express News Classified department at 210-250-2345. They will run an ad for free for 4 days for a found animal (make the description general enough so that you can ask callers to describe specifics to verify ownership).
- Place ads with internet lost and found services, such as those on this page.
- If possible, have the animal scanned for a microchip at your local vet.
- File a found pet report at Man and Beast at 210-590-7387, the Humane Society at 210-226-7461, AND the Animal Defense League at 210-655-1481.
If you found an animal and have no luck finding the owners, consider giving the animal a new life in your home. If that is not possible, please use the resources on this site to assist you in finding the animal a new home or placing the animal with a rescue group. If you are unsure, contact us, and we will help you with the process.
