MissScarlettHenFr.jpg "Cluck, Chuck,Chuck, Cluck, Cluck...!"         The Scarlett Hens of LaGrange, TX under the leadership of yours truly, Queen Linda Hass "Madam Hen" was a spin off of another local chaper in 2004. We laughingly call ourselves the "Chicken Ranch Rejects". We take turns hosting. We meet, monthly, usually one of the days of the 2nd week of the month, in a local restaurant, at the home of our hostess and/or a special outing chose by the hostess. We like having other chapters join us when they can. They can contact me to make plans.

When I am Old I Shall Wear Purple...

With a Red Hat even though it doesn't fit and doesn't suit me.

...

And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells...

The ending of the poem pleases its readers when the woman says . . .

But we are not old yet! We are "Vintage" like Antigues. We are Still of Great Value.
We're not ready for No Rockin' Chairs! But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Inspired by a popular poem by Jenny Joseph entitled "Warning" To see more of this poem... http://www.redhatsociety.com/

But We Are Not Old. We are Vintage like Valuable Antiques.
"We're Not Ready For No Rockin' Chairs!"

Queen Linda "Madam Hen" &
Queen of Vice Denise "Hippy Chick"

We like to keep our disorganizating light and fun. Each member gets to plan a gathering once or twice a year. We try to do something a little different each month. We will be sharing some of this with you.

The Scarlett Hens got our name from History of La Grange and the infamous Chicken Ranch It was made famous by the musical comedy movie starting Dolly Parton and Richard Burton.

We went on a tour of the the Fayette County Jailhouse Museum to educate ourselves of what the Chicken Ranch was all about. They almost lock us up. We never laughed so much.
