The Shufflin' Shoes became a team in the summer of 1990. We've danced in sunshine and rain, hot (99°) and cold (25°), in libraries and malls, barns and beautiful auditoriums, honky-tonks and warehouses, with ballet dancers and barbershoppers, hot-air balloons and long-winded journalists, to Rodeo and Rap, classical and country - and even the Macarena!

The Shoes are based at
House of Dance Plano
2621 Summit Avenue, Suite 300
(located near the corner of Plano Parkway and Jupiter Road)

Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30-10:00 p.m. Beginner at 7:30, Intermediate at 8:15, and Advanced/Performance Rehearsals at 9:15. We welcome dancers ages eight through adult.

No special clothing or shoes are required. If you have tap shoes with flat heels, they'll do fine, but clogging taps can be ordered if you want them. It's best to wear cool, comfortable clothes, such as t-shirts and shorts.

Whether you’re looking for exercise, a creative or performing outlet, or are just curious about those crazy folks called cloggers – come see us!

We’re happy to answer your questions - just send an e-mail to or call 214-755-9935.

More About Us

Dee Dick and her students formed the Shufflin' Shoes in June of 1990. (See Team History page.) Dee choreographed almost from the beginning of her clogging career and was a regular contributor to local and area workshops. She shared her knowledge of Appalachian clogging with countless numbers of students over the years and encouraged team members to choreograph and teach, as well.

Dee passed away at home on the morning of August 15, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. The Shoes will always remember and miss her as we carry on her clogging traditions.
