The Shufflin' Shoes became a team in the summer of 1990. We've danced in sunshine and rain, hot (99º) and cold (25º); in libraries and malls, barns and beautiful auditoriums, honky-tonks and warehouses; with ballet dancers and barbershoppers, hot-air balloons and long-winded journalists, to Rodeo and Rap, classical and country - and even the Macarena!

Classes

Classes are on-going at Huffhines Recreation Center, 200 N. Plano Road in Richardson, Texas, on Thursday evenings from 7:45-9:45 p.m. We start with Beginner level material and gradually work into Intermediate, beginning at 8:30. Sunday sessions are also held at Huffhines from 2:00-4:00 p.m. for Advanced Intermediate/Advanced dancers. We welcome dancers ages eight through adult. The first lesson is always FREE.

No special clothing or shoes are required. If you have tap shoes with flat heels, they'll do fine, but clogging taps can be ordered if you want them. It's best to wear cool, comfortable clothes, such as t-shirts and shorts.

Whether you’re looking for exercise, a creative or performing outlet, or are just curious about those crazy folks called cloggers – come see us!

More About Us

Dee Dick has been clogging since 1985 and teaching since 1989. She and her students formed the Shufflin' Shoes in June of 1990. (See Team History page.) Most of the material performed by the Shoes is original. Dee has been choreographing almost since the beginning of her clogging career. A regular contributor to local and area workshops, Dee has taught for many years at the Texas Cloggers Rally, the I-35 Clogging Special, the Double Toe Jam Workshop, and the Camp Esperanza Benefit Workshop, as well as serving on the committee at the National Clogging Convention.
