Road Trip to Wichita Falls

Can't Wait, can't wait for April 08! The long awaited QMB reunion is being held in Wichita Falls, on April 04 - 06 at the Howard Johnson Hotel.

Unless decreed otherwise for special occasions by the Queen Mum, our attire shall ALWAYS consist of purple clothing and RED HAT. This is reversed during our birthday month.

To that end  The Red Hat Society came into being. Our beloved Sue Ellen Cooper, founder of the Red Hat Society, was shopping one day at a flea market and saw a vintage, red fedora hat. Remembering the words of the famous "When I am old" poem, she bought the hat for her friend's 50th birthday along with a copy of the poem. From that day of shopping our wonderful, international society was born.

Texas Convergence
The 6th Annual Texas Convergence was all that I had hoped for and more. Hilarity was the order of the weekend. Big smiles, giggles, and laughter rang out from one end of the hotel to the other. There were no strangers, just red hat sisters.

The entertainment was outstanding, the country band on Saturday was very good and the lady who sang gospel songs on Sunday morning was awesome!

We have now seen some outstanding door decorations and will know more what we need to do the next time.

Three Sippin' SenioRitas attended and had a wonderful time. They were Sheila, Norma, and myself. I was very proud to be recognized as one of the many Queens in attendance.

The Convergence is just a sweet memory now. Have any of you started making something with your beads? I haven't yet. But it will be so nice to look at whatever we make and remember the sister that gave us the bead.

ROYAL QUEEN'S COUNCIL NEWS
As Queen and Co-Queen of the Sippin' SenioRitas, Norma and I are proud members of the Royal Queen's Council of Fort Worth. The RQC traveled to Dallas by train in November. Queen of Vice, Norma attended and reported that it was a fun-filled day. They had lunch at the Antares Restaurant in the revolving tower in downtown Dallas then toured Thanksgiving Square. Queen Darlene was unable to attend because she had to work that day.
