Top Ten Questions People are Asking About 2008 boots & boas Benefiting Stewart Creek Elementary

1. What is Boots & Boas? This yearly springtime event is an adult only evening of dinner, live and silent auctions, entertainment, and dancing. Boots & Boas will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Lone Star Convention Center. The purpose of the event is to raise funds to support Stewart Creek while avoiding traditional door-to-door fundraising events where our children sell wrapping paper, cookie dough, pizzas, etc. This is also a chance for us to build relationships within our community and school as well as just having some fun!

2. Who’s invited? You! This adult-only event is open to the community. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors. You may want to get a group of parents from your child's classroom and share a table. Enjoy an evening out with old friends and new.

3. What should I wear? Attire is Festive Casual, which means fun, casual attire. Think Boas and Blue Jeans...Cowboy Boots and Boas…something fun that you might wear to the rodeo. No after 5:00 attire is required.

4. How do I get my tickets and what’s included in the ticket price? Send in your completed order form and money before February 15th to purchase your ticket for $25. Tickets will also be sold throughout the day at school on February 14 & 15 at Stewart Creek. The week of February 18-22, tickets will increase in price (to $30), but can still be purchased at SCE. Additional tickets are available at the door the night of Boots and Boas for $30. You are guaranteed to have fun, enjoy a great Mexican Fiesta buffet provided by Spectrum Catering, a cash bar, silent and live auctions, a top quality slideshow presentation of the daily activities at SCE, a DJ spinning your favorite tunes, and a dance floor for a little boot-scootin', too. The grade level selling the most tickets will receive a grade level prize.

5. Can I sponsor a table and get reserved seating? A limited number of reserved tables are available for our table sponsors. Each reserved table will be specially designated with the table sponsor’s name and also recognized in our auction catalog. These tables are great for getting a front row seat to our live auction and dance floor. Also, you are guaranteed ten seats together. These reserved tables are first come, first serve so you will want to reserve your table early. Reserved tables are $400 and include tickets for 10 people.

6. What kinds of items will be in the auctions? In previous years, auction items received anywhere from $15 to over $1,000. There is something for everyone. There will be Grade level & Class Projects, Fun with the Faculty Outings, and VIP Privileges at SCE up for bid - not to mention tickets to sporting events, nights out on the town, a vacation getaway package, gift certificates, a private chef in your home for dinner, and possibly even a new family pet!

7. Do I have to bid on items if I attend Boots & Boas? No, this is a fun night out with other parents, friends, and teachers! It is also a great opportunity to welcome those who are new to the community. You may find just the right item to bid on in our silent auction or want to watch our lively and entertaining auctioneer get the bidding going in our live auction. Did we mention our Heads or Tails game? Maybe you’ll go home with cash in your pocket. Just come and enjoy the fun!

8. How is the money that is raised going to be spent? The profits of this big event are used to purchase additional learning resources for our students at SCE and additional fine arts performances to be presented at SCE. Come help us reach our goal.

9. What is the schedule the night of Boots & Boas? 6:00 p.m. Doors open 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Silent Auction and Dinner Buffet 8:00 p.m. Heads or Tails Game 8:30 p.m. Live Auction 10:00p.m. – 12:00a.m. Music, Dancing, & Auction Checkout

10. How can I help? Support the evening by attending. Become a Friend of Stewart Creek by making cash donations or underwriting specific costs for the evening. Solicit donations. Buy an ad to represent your business in the Boots & Boas auction catalog - everyone who attends receives a catalog. Provide an item or service for the auction. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to attend and help us make this event a huge success. Help setup, work check-in or check-out, sell tickets… Please visit our website at www.orgsites.com/tx/stewartcreekpto or email bootsandboas@consolidated.net to ask questions or offer your assistance in any way.
