Welcome to Texas Business Women of San Angelo

Are you looking for a way to grow your business without the extra expense of astronomical advertising? Are you intrested in networking with others and meeting new people in order to get new contacts? If so, Texas Business Women is a group of women you need to meet! We are a group of "Women Helping Women" and we love to get together and have a good time as well as learn from each other. We meet monthly for a business meeting and usually have a speaker or some form of training, plus once a month for a Networking Lunch.

Texas Business Women was originally chartered in July 1919. We have a proud and strong history and legacy of Women helping Women. Our Premiere Programs include a Leadership Institute, Personal Development that focuses on public speaking, and Young Women's Connection for women 18-36. Texas Business Women is a state organization whose mission is to provided resources for leadership, networking and advocacy to empower women to succeed personally and professionally.

Laura Whisenhunt is the Vice President of the San Angelo TBW

San Angelo's local organization was organized in 1923 and is a great resource for women to connect! Valuable business and personal contacts can be made and information exchanged with other women in the communtity. We also offer lots of mentoring and coaching.

Special events promote our members' creativity and team building skills, and of course, don't forget the friendships that are formed!

TBW encourages the goal of women's equality, by increasing awareness of women's participation in the legislative process. We stress the importance of voting, encouraging women to "get out the vote."

The 2011 TBW State Conference in Arlington, June 8-11 was a huge success! Several of our members attended the conference and brought back two beautiful glass awards for the membership and legislative programs we did. Our club worked hard all during the year and it is great to be recognized for what we have done!

Lots of Networking!

At the business meeting each month, we host a speaker who shares information with us concerning women's and community issues or we do some form of training for leadership. We meet at a local restaurant and everyone is able to choose their meal from the menu, which always has a delightful variety. We have a very diverse group of women who enjoy a membership and we always welcome visitors. The July meeting was our annual "picnic", with everyone bringing a huge supply of covered dishes, which we attacked in no time. At this meeting we have no speaker and just a very short business meeting.Several family members also attended. Elaine Moore graciously opened her beautiful home up to us to meet there and a great time was had by all. This was the first meeting for our new officers, and we are looking forward to an exciting new year. Our next meeting will be at Zentner's Daughter's Steakhouse on Aug. 11th. Our speaker will be Donna Osborn from the Concho Valley Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CVCED),who will update us on the changes going on in the city.

The networking luncheon has no speaker-just lots of good food, networking and enjoying other women's company. Bring lots of business cards and be prepared to introduce yourself.
