5.JPG.jpgA LITTLE BIT ABOUT US...

The Cornerstone Church is a non-denominational church that is spirit-filled and believes the whole Bible is the infallible Word of God. To know Jesus, and to serve Him is our priority. Our vision is to be a repairer of the breach, and to be a gathering place for people who need salvation, healing and restoration. Our mission is to reach as many souls as possible in these last days, and show them the way to eternal life. Everyone is welcome to worship with us.

Meet the Pastor and his wife...

Ken Smith has been pastoring for 17 years at The Cornerstone Church. His favorite scripture is Psalm 23. He has been married to Jeannie Smith for almost 32 years, and together they have one son, Matthew, aged 28. Ken has two other sons, Robert, who sadly passed away last year, and Kelly, from another marriage and Jeannie has one daughter, Laura, also from a previous marriage. Together they have four grandchildren, Lindsey, Jeb, Michaela and Clarity, and one great grandchild, Luke. They love the Lord and desire to do His will in all things. Please pray for them, and the church, as they serve the Lord together.

GREETINGS CORNERSTONE FRIENDS!

The Alaska Update! Even with my husband's passing, we endeavor to pursue the plan that he had intended for our lives.

This means going forth with the vision of a discipleship school in Alaska, even though the Discipleship Training School may have some changes due to extra time needed to obtain a staff.

A big thanks to all of you who sent flowers, called, gave money or attended the funeral or memorial services.

Words can never express how much you encouraged us with your prayers and support.

In remembering my husband, Dale, I think of this verse from John that says, 'Unless a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abideth alone, but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.' Pray for us that his vision for the new school will bring forth much fruit.

Thank you for your obedience to the Lord's calling to help us take the Good News of Christ to the cities and villages of Alaska. May God continue to pour out His blessings upon you for your acts of obedience.

I thank you for your prayers as well. "This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."~~1 Timothy 2:3-4

You have our love and prayers,

Your missionaries in the Arctic, Joyce Thurlby & Son Derek, Missionaries for The Cornerstone Church.

Sunday's Sermon Notes

'Let My People God' by Pastor Larry Stephenson Taken from Exodus 3:10, 17-18

We are God's instrument of His deliverance! He's going to send us as He did Moses. God's people will set the people free with their witness of Christ and the power of God.

They may be people we don't even like to be around...but what if God sent us to minister to them, and they got set free and delivered?

Get your enemies saved, and you'll love being around them and they'll love you! Think of those who taunted Jesus on the cross...and yet while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

He died for 'Whosoever will'. 1 John 3:18 tells us that Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. Now we have the power in Jesus name, with the message of the gospel, see people get saved, healed and delivered.

Here in this world we are too man focused and not enough God focused. We worry about what man thinks, when we should be worrying what God thinks.

Quit being so 'churchy' and become more 'Christ-like.' Christ means 'anointed', the anointing abides inside us. Becausee of the anointing, the yoke is destroyed.

Church, God has come down! He has chosen us to spread the Word..to do the work of the ministry. Somewhere out there there is a lost person who needs to be set free.
