We have recently upgraded our antenna and radio at the Plainview Emergency Operations Center. Dalton, KC5QKU took these pictures of Brian, N5RNY, using a bucket truck provided by the city of Plainview, to upgrade the antenna at the EOC. This antenna mount is approximately 40 feet above ground, and we took down the old damaged 2 meter beam and replaced it with a new Tram dual band vertical antenna.

The radio in the EOC was replaced with a new dual band Yaesu FT-7800 radio. The old (2 meter only) Kenwood, somewhere around 20-25 years old, had no tone board, and was not able to access even local repeaters.

Thanks go to Mike Allen, for arranging for the purchase of new equipment for the EOC, to Dalton, KC5QKU for gound support, and Cindy, KD5BMC, for logistics support! The new equipment was purchased at RAD-COMM Radio in Lubbock Tx.
