New Wayside Repeater dedicated to Vernon Alexander,N5LRH by Chip Andrews, N5LTZ of Caprock Intertie. Vernon is the President and former Emergency Coordinator for Panhandle RACES/ARES. Vernon was honored for his many years of support of emergency communications.
PARC meets at the EOC (Emergency Operations Center) on 9th Street and Fannin, 9:30 am on the first Saturday of each month.
Testing for amateur radio licenses is at 10:30 am following the PARC meeting. Same location.
ARES meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the EOC center.
The PROTT (Panhandle Radio Operator Think Tank) meets for lunch every Wednesday at various eating locations in Amarillo. Please check out the PROTT web page or monitor the 146.94 repeater for notice on the next location or listen in on 3933 khz Panhandle Traffic and Emergency Net at 7pm CST Tuesday evenings for details.
