VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Programs are always needed for PARC monthly meetings. Anyone having a special interest, radio experience, etc. and wishing to volunteer a program please contact Chris, KE5ZRT about scheduling one.

Instructors Needed

Class room instructors and support persons for Technician and/or General and/or Extra Class programs are needed for classes that will be started shortly. Please contact KE5ZRT, Chris Seright to make known your availabilty.

Newsletter Editor

The club needs an Editor for the Oscillator Newsletter. The Newsletter is published quarterly. Anyone having experience or just a keen desire to become a publisher, please let one of the Club officers know. This is a great opportunity to practice any skills you learned in school.

Volunteer for Public Service

• We operate under the premise that volunteering is not only a fun aspect of our hobby, but it is the backbone of our service. Trained volunteers are our strenghth in times of health and welfare communication emergencies as set forth in the Part 97 FCC Rules and Regulations. The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is the training ground many of us participate in to prepare ourselves for the next disaster.

• To be prepared when our expertise is needed, we actively volunteer in the many community events listed on the home page. These activities give us opportunities to keep our communication skills and equipment in ready status.

• If you are new to ham radio and maybe you don’t yet have the equipment to participate in one of these events. Don’t let that stop you. Volunteer anyway and let some of the more experienced hams help you prepare. They might just have an available loaner rig, HT or antenna. You can always fill a position of logging specialist or ride along observer until you are better prepared. It’s ok to ask questions. We all were beginners at one point.

• There are also many leadership jobs to perform in the monthly operation of the club, local net operation and participation, repeater and equipment maintenance, etc.

• If you would like to get involved, talk to one of the club officers about the area in which you are interested in becoming a trained asset to your community. YOu might be the one to begin a new special interest group.
