![]() The 2009 Picnic brought out several Scouts from BSA Troop 98 in Amarillo, Texas to try out Amateur Radio with WA8YYE acting as control operator using his VHF Go Kit. Members of the club, led by WD5FOI, helped the scouts obtain their Radio Merit Badge. The years work ended with the Scouts experiencing some HF DXing during the BSA Jamboree-on-the-Air from Camp Don Harrington. PARC meets at the EOC (Emergency Operations Center) on 9th Street and Fannin, 9:30 am on the first Saturday of each month. Testing for amateur radio licenses is at 10:30 am following the PARC meeting. Same location.
The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the EOC center.
The PROTT (Panhandle Radio Operator Think Tank) meets for lunch every Wednesday at various eating locations in Amarillo.
