Interstate Battery Fundraising Program

The State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association is entering into an agreement with the Interstate Batteries Corporation to provide a fundraising opportunity for the association. At the January 27th Executive Board meeting, the board approved the proposal by Interstate Batteries to provide 30% of all online sales on batteries to be returned to SFFMA. The Executive Board also earmarked money from this fundraising opportunity would go to each of the SFFMA districts to assist with training opportunities, membership drives, etc. The advantages of this program are:

    It’s free and it’s ongoing.
These are everyday alkalines and batteries for cell phones, watches, etc (not car batteries) – Over 10,000 different types! Interstate Battery performance is equivalent to the higher end batteries offered on the market today.
People are already buying batteries at grocery stores, home improvement stores and discount clubs. Now they can do so and support the fire service of Texas!
All the VFD’s have to do is tell people about the program, provide the website address of www.ibsa.com/fire, and provide the code “fire” so that the sale is linked back to the association. The people order them online like any other online purchase, they’re shipped straight to the person’s doorstep, and SFFMA gets the proceeds.
Interstate takes care of the delivery and any concerns during the process.
Interstate has email and printed materials that will be available to the departments.
Interstate will provide a logo, website link, and a webpage specific to SFFMA for ordering the products.
Local churches and businesses can buy through the website, too, and support the VFD with their purchases. Look for more information on this program at SFFMA online at www.sffma.org
