Celebrating 84 Years of Serving Bristol (Click here for a brief history of our club) What Is Lionism? Who are the Lions? Lions Club International was founded in 1917 by a young insurance salesman named Melvin Jones. The Lions remained without a unified focus until the 1925 International Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio when the keynote speaker, Helen Keller, delivered an inspirational speech changing the direction of Lionism forever. After this speech, Lions were compelled to adopt the cause of blindness and vision related activites. What do the Bristol Host Lions do? We Serve! To get a better understanding, take a look below!
