Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption, including neighboring countries
Welcome to the Washington DC Chapter of Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption (FRUA). We are one of many chapters of National FRUA. Our chapter is unique in the fact that we welcome and support members from Washington DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware. We are the largest chapter in FRUA with over 250 members.
We provide support to families who have adopted or who are in the process of adopting from Russia and the former Soviet block countries. We do this by providing our members with a support network that helps with parenting and a wide range of adoption issues. We coordinate regular events offering outstanding adoption information.

FRUA goes to see the Tamburitzans in Baltimore - Sept 20

The Duquesne University Tamburitzans is a dance ensemble renowned for their exciting performance and excellent ethnic costumes. The mission statement of the "Tammies" states "The Duquesne University Tamburitzans is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the cultural heritages of Eastern Europe and its neighbors through performance, while awarding scholarships to talented and deserving student performers."
FRUA is arranging a group discount for this performance. Through FRUA, tickets will be $15 for adults, and children 6-22 are free. Yes, you read that right, children are free!
Seating at the Chesapeake Arts Center is usually General Seating, not reserved seats. However, the organizers have promised us that they will block off seats for our group if we can tell them in advance how many people will be attending. The ticket purchase will be at the door on the might of the performance rather than advance sale.
