Welcome to FRUA-DC
The Greater Washington DC area Chapter of FRUA

Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption, including Neighboring Countries

FRUA-DC is an all volunteer support network of families who are either in the process of adopting children from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakstan and other former Soviet Bloc countries, or who have brought their children home.

We sponsor social and cultural events, organize outings to local ethnic events, and share information about adoption related issues. We aim to help through the transition and parenting process for our families.

Our chapter covers the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.

HIllwood Museum Family Culture Camp 2011 Russian Roots Family Camp 2011

Once again, the Youth Audiences staff at Hillwood Museum and Gardens in Washington DC is hosting FRUA-DC for a day of fun, culture, and fellowship with other local adoptive families.

The Samovar Russian Folk Ensemble will entertain with songs and dances, Russian artist Ksenya Litvak will lead an art project with the children, and families will have an opportunity to explore the magnificent house and gardens at Hillwood Mansion.

WHEN:Saturday,June 25
TIME: 9:00- 3:00
COST: $12.00 per person, box lunches are available to order for an additional $10.00 per person, or feel free to bring your own picnic lunch.

Due to space limitations, pre-registration is required, and all registrations are due by June 8. Registration is first come, first served, so get your forms in!

Maryland Picnic- May 21
Please join us on Saturday, May 21 for our annual Family picnic at Cathedral Gardens in Elkridge, Maryland.
This is a BYOE Event- Bring Your Own Everything! We provide the place, you provide your own food and drink.
