Highland Springs High School PTSA is encouraging and supporting higher education by offering a $250.00 scholarship to 2 - 4 Highland Springs High School graduating seniors.
The purpose of the scholarship program is to help provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing their goals through higher learning. The scholarship funds will be applied towards college expenses during the recipients’ freshman year.
APPLICATION AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES
Students MUST have a GPA of 2.5 or above to apply. Interested seniors must return the application to the HIGHLAND SPRINGS HIGH COUNSELING DEPARTMENT no later than May 26, 2015. The following items must accompany the application:

The PTSA Scholarship Committee will review the applications. The name of the recipients will be announced at the school’s Senior Honor Assembly. The principal will be notified of the committee’s decision prior to the assembly.
The PTSA will distribute the award to the recipient after their college enrollment. It will be the responsibility of each recipient to notify the PTSA of his/her enrollment. Students must also provide their Student Account Number or Social Security Number. The award check can only be issued directly to the recipient if a valid receipt or notification from the college is presented to the PTSA. The scholarship award will not be held for more than two (2) years from the date of the initial award.
Once the award check has been issued and the recipient fails to attend the college, all
scholarship funds must be reverted back to the PTSA, where it will be held for the same
period of two (2) years as stated above, in the recipient’s name.
Applications will also be available in the Counseling Department.
