S.M.A.R.T. Stallions Read....Reading makes you smart!
A big Thank You to all the Saratoga families who supported the 2011 book fair in both sales and service. It took 45 parent and student volunteers to set-up and run the fair which will bring in over $2,000 to support our library enrichment programs.
The families of Saratoga were also very generous to our teachers this year by donating 112 books to their classrooms through the Teacher Wish List program. In addition, 15 teachers and 33 students won free books through the Teacher and Book-Walk Contests.
Author/Illustrator Janet Stevens visited with Saratoga's students in October. Her presentation was educational and a lot of fun too!
She has written and/or illustrated many favorite children's books, including the popular Anansi series, Eppossumondas series, The Great Fuzz Frenzy, Help Me, Mr. Mutt!, and many more!...http://www.janetstevens.com.
Author visits are an exciting way to motivate children to read and write!
Ms. Stevens visit was made possible by proceeds from the book fair.
