Author Visits THE JUDITH ROSENFELD
AUTHOR’S DAY PROGRAM The Judith Rosenfeld Author’s Day
Program is funded through an endowment established by Francis MacFarlane in
2007. His generous gift allows On Author’s Day, the visiting author
speaks in a formal setting with grade-level groupings of students. All students have read at least one of the
author’s books prior to the visit. Each
student individually meets the author as books are personally signed. The program has a real impact on the students
and encourages them in their reading and writing.
![]() Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
Kimberly Brubaker Bradley is a native of Indiana and earned a degree in chemistry from Smith College. She began her writing career with Ruthie's Gift which is based on stories from her grandmother's life. Many of her works are historical fiction including her latest novel, Jefferson's Sons which tells the story of Thomas Jefferson's children with Sally Hemings. Mrs. Bradley has recieved many awards for her fine novels and picture books. He was the recipient of the 2010 Caldecott Medal for The Lion and the Mouse.
