Become a Member and Get Involved

The TJES PTA is a non-profit, volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers and community members committed to enhancing the educational experience for all children.

Every year the PTA sponsors beneficial programs and educational assemblies for the students at TJES. We also fulfill teacher wishlists for supplies and equipment that may not be provided due to lack of funding. None of this would be possible without your support! Together as a team, we become advocates for our children’s health, welfare, education and safety.

Members are not required to attend meetings or to participate as a volunteer. Your PTA membership allows you the privilege to vote on critical PTA business such as adopting the year’s budget and bylaws, and electing board members. The membership fee is $5.00 per person.

Thank you to all who support the PTA by joining, volunteering, and participating in fundraising. We look forward to another successful school year!

PTA News

The PTA would like to give a warm welcome to Shonda Brooks who recently became our new PTA president. Christine Moyer has stepped down and will be the secretary for the remainder of the 2011 - 2012 school year.

Shonda announced the proposed PTA budget at our first General Membership meeting on December 15th. She outlined the line items for income -vs- expenses. Those members present voted in favor of continuing the remainder of the school year using the outlined budget presented. The approved budget is posted on the link to the left of this page.

Winter Clothing Drive

December 12, 2011 to January 12, 2011

It’s that time of year to clean out your closets and pass along your gently used winter clothes to members of our community who are in need.

We will be accepting coats, mittens/gloves, pants, boots, hats and scarves, etc. Please make sure the donated items are clean and don’t shoe extreme wear.

You may send these items in with your student or drop them off in the TJES mobile office.

The PTA is asking members of our community for donations for TJES. We would like to thank the people and businesses in Louisa County for their contributions thus far. Unfortunately more help is needed for our students and teachers. Please let us know if you can donate by contacting heathermetz02@aol.com. A PTA member will contact you to set up a pick up time.

We would like to thank CVS Pharmacy, Miller's Marker, and Farmers Food for their generous donations.

Box Tops for Education

Box Tops for Education has helped America’s schools earn over $400 million since 1996. You can earn cash for your child’s school by clipping Box Tops coupons from hundreds of participating products. Each Box Top is worth .10 cents, which adds up fast. Box Tops also offers easy ways to earn even more cash for your school online. The money earned is then used to purchase computer software, athletic or playground equipment or other educational items.
