2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR
Welcome back to school!!!
This is going to be a very exciting year. We have many new and exciting events for you and your family to enjoy. Please be sure to become a member of the PTA!! We make things happen!

PTA MEMBERSHIP
Be a part of something great! You should have received a welcome letter and envelope in your child's red folder the first week of school. We have made some great changes that will meet the needs of all the students. We are looking forward to working with you this year. The $5 membership helps pay for many educationally based tools and programs that typically would not be possible due to lack of state, county and school funding. We also were able to provide the school and faculty with many "wish list" items that will enhance our children's education this year and many years to come.
Please feel free to contact anyone on the PTA board for ideas, suggestions, comments, or if you are able to assist.

BiLingual Speakers Needed
If you are able to speak and/or write English as well as Hispanic, please contact Christine Moyer @ 540-894-4715
We are in need of people to assist in the translation of homework assignments and/or information being sent home to the TJES Hispanic population.

We had a great group of volunteers last year and we know this year will be great as well. The PTA and the Teachers look forward to working with each and every one of you! It is amazing to see the glory on a child's face to know their parent/guardian are helping out! Many hands make light work and touch so many children's lives. Thanks for all you do!

Community /Business Partner Program
The 2010-2011 Community Sponsor Letters will be going out soon. We have changed the program by creating three levels of pledging; Plantinum, Gold and Silver. Because of the support we receive from our business partners, we are able to give our students and classrooms a "hand up" with financial support. Thank you for being a part of the education of our students.

PARTNER OF THE MONTH

GENERAL MEMEBERSHIP MEETING & BOOK FAIR KICK-OFF

It is our first PTA General Membership meeting on Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 PM.

You can show your support this year by becoming a member!

Book Fair Kick-off COME ONE ... COME ALL... TJES Presents: Joe Ramono in "BOOKS: The Magic Is Real" September 16, 2010 This is a magic show that will be open to all children and parents/guardians of TJES. It starts at 7:00 so make sure to come EARLY to get a good seat as the show is interactive with the children! There will also be a brief PTA meeting to start the event for all PTA members to approve the new 2010 - 2011 PTA budget =) HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE ... " Come join the fun!

FALL FUNDRAISER "Great AMERICAN" is the name of the company we have selected for the FALL Fundraiser. They offer a wonderful selection of items to choose from soooooooo make sure you have those special people in mind when viewing the catalogue as the holidays are right around the corner! Packets will be sent home on Friday, October 8th, 2010. Money/orders are DUE @ school on Monday, October 25, 2010! Delivery of the products: November 15th - 19th 2010. ALL children who participate in the fundraiser and sell a minimum of 5 items or make a donation to the TJES PTA will be eligible to attend a "BMX Bike Show" - called "RISE ABOVE" ... Date to be announced =) Those children who sell 10 items or more will acquire a VIP pass which entitles them to "up front" seating AND autographs by ALL the bikers. There will also be prizes for the top 3 sellers in the school which includes a BMX Bike! Please remember that the money earned from our fundraisers assist us in our efforts to make TJES a GREAT place. We use the funds for the purchase of instructional tools/supplies needed in the classroom as well as school assemblies throughout the school year. If you would not like to purchase anything from the catalogue but would like to assist the PTA in their efforts, please make checks payable to TJES PTA and send into school with your child/children. Once received, a notice of receipt will be processed and sent back to you. Thank YOU for YOUR continued support!

Campbell's Labels For Education
Help our school get FREE stuff by saving proofs from Campbell's brand products!

Save the UPC code and bottle lids from selected products and our school can earn points to get classroom tools we can certainly use!

TURN TYSON PRODUCTS INTO BIG BUCKS FOR OUR SCHOOL

If you eat Tyson products, you can help our school earn money!
The program is called Project A+, and it works like this: there’s a Project A+ label, worth 24¢, on various Tyson products that feature the Project A+ logo on the front of the package. Schools earn money from Tyson by collecting and redeeming the labels.

Participating schools can earn up to $12,000 per academic year, and there are no restrictions on how the funds are used.
