The Tri-City Chapter meets the first Tuesday of each month.

The Tri-City Chapter meets the first Tuesday of each month.
Chartered twenty-eight years ago, we are a part of The International Association of Administration Professionals (IAAP®)

The International Association of Administration Professionals (IAAP®)  is the world’s leading organization for administrative assistants, executive secretaries, office coordinators, office managers, and other related office professionals. The Tri-City Chapter, which includes the cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, and the surrounding counties, meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Monthly meetings consist of an educational presentation, networking, and a short business meeting. Special events such as a dinner to honor our executives, a professional development seminar and an Administrative Professional Week banquet, etc. are held throughout the year.

IAAP Objective

To elevate the standards of all administrative professions and to promote their working relationships with management through continuing education, authorized programs, and publications.

  • Our Vision: To inspire and equip all administrative professionals to attain excellence.

  • Our Mission: To be the acknowledged, recognized leaders of administrative professionals and to enhance their individual and collective value, competence, and influence.

  • Our Purpose: To provide education and training, and set standards of excellence recognized by the business community on a global perspective.

FROM OUR PRESIDENT:

Your new board is already hard at work, finding new and creative ways to overcome the challenges of the current times in which we are living. We must continue to develop the Chapter to meet these changing times.

It is now more important than ever for this chapter to provide the educational opportunities, the support and the networking that our members need. Some of the things we have already worked on included a new meeting location, a new meeting format, and new ideas for our annual picnic.

The 2009-2010 International theme is the POWER of COMMITMENT. While the details are still under wraps, it has given me a chance to begin to reflect on what that could mean.

We may not be the biggest chapter in our Division, but imagine what POWER 32 talented, intelligent, hard working, resourceful, beautiful women will have as a group committed to a cause...EACH OTHER.

Let me flip the switch on that POWER by pledging my COMMITMENT to each of you, to be the support, the encouragement, the leader you need. Today is the first day of our new adventure together. I am looking forward to the journey.

Your 2009-2010 Tri-City Chapter
IAAP President
Amber Cary

    2009 MEMBER OF THE YEAR

    2008-2009 President - Mary B. Schrum CPS

"It was an honor to receive the Member of the Year award. There were many others who de-served the recognition; however, I was glad to serve you."

Congratulations to our members who sat for the CPS/CAP exams & certifications and passed!

  • Linda Coake CPS/CAP
  • Linda Wells CPS/CAP
  • Denise Owen CPS
  • Juanita Wolfe-Cersley CPS/CAP
  • Hollie Ronkartz CAP
  • Melody Day CPS/CAP
  • Carol Blair CPS

Not only do those who are certified as CPS and/or CAP work hard to earn the recertification points over the five-year period, there is a lot of work to organize the documentation required and get it ready for submission. Good luck, to everyone!

If you have questions about how you too can achieve this wonderful goal, feel free to contact Linda Wells CPS/CAP, Certification Chair.

    Great Job Everyone!
    We are proud of you!
