New College Credit Recommendations for the CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SECRETARY (CPS) and CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL (CAP) EXAMINATIONS

Since 1976, the American Council on Education (ACE), based in Washington DC, has reviewed the CPS examination for possible college credit; the CAP exam has been reviewed by ACE since 2003.

ACE recently provided the following college credit recommendations, based on the 2004 CPS and CAP examination blueprints. Colleges and universities can find the complete recommendation in the ACE Guide to Educational Credit by Examination.

Office Systems & Technology

  • 3 Lower Division Associate/Baccalaureate Degree— Computer Concepts

  • 3 Lower Division Associate/Baccalaureate Degree— Information Systems

Office Administration

  • 3 Lower Division Associate/Baccalaureate Degree— Records Management

  • 3 Lower Division Associate/Baccalaureate Degree— Business Communications

Management

  • 3 Lower or Upper Division— Human Resources Management
