WELCOME TO TROOP 956!

Webelos, stop by and say "Hi" at our Open House Meeting! Troop 956 Webelos Open House will be on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 7:30pm -
Webelos scouts and parents are welcome to visit our troop, meet the scouts & leaders, learn some skills & have fun!


Troop Meetings are at Galilee UMC
Tuesday evening at 7:30-8:30 PM.

Troop 956 is chartered by the American Legion Post 150 in Sterling, VA.


Every activity that the Troop conducts strives to meet these Aims of Boy Scouting: Building character, Fostering citizenship, & Developing mental, moral, and physical fitness.
Like having fun? We hike, bike, swim, canoe, snow ski, snow board, fish, backpack, white water rafting, play games, and play sports.
Do you enjoy camping? The wilderness? We camp all year round!
Like learning new skills? We teach firebuilding, camping, cooking, citizenship, first aid, knots, lashings, axesmanship, leadership, and teamwork!
We teach the boy-led Scouting program.
"Adventure, fun, challenge and responsibility –
the promise of the Scouting adventure is all of this and more."

Are you ready? YOU CAN BE A PART OF THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF SCOUTING!

Online Training:
-BSA has several Online Courses at BSA Online Learning Center
-Contact Committee Chair for your "Person ID" # to use when you first register with the BSA Online Learning Center-

Availble courses include:
Boy Scout Fast Start Training*
~Required for all leaders and committee members, to be taken before other Training classes.
*Also recommended for ALL troop parents, great overview of how a troop functions!

Troop Committee Challenge Training*
~Required for all committee members.

BSA Youth Protection Training
~Required for all adults working with scouts.

Aquatics Safety: Safety Afloat & Safe Swim Defense Training
~Required to conduct water activities
NOTE: A certificate can be printed after successful completion of the test at the end. Save these certificates (photo copy them) and turn in to troop Training Coord. Also send them to the Council Office, or give them to your District Training Chairs to make sure that the certificates are sent to the office, so you're credited with taking the course.

Scouting for Food is one of our Troop's "Good Turn for America" Service Projects. This year our troop collected a total of 1,013.6 pounds, and Loudoun scouts collected a grand total of 91,976 pounds! Thank you for helping out this year.
